Former Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey will be inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, the promotion announced during UFC 225 in Chicago on Saturday.

Widely recognized as the face of women's MMA during her run in UFC, Rousey won her first 12 UFC fights. She defeated Miesha Tate in March 2012 to capture her first championship, and 'The Baddest Woman on the Planet' would not look back anytime soon.

“This is an immense honor, to not only take part in bringing women to the forefront of this sport, but now the UFC Hall of Fame,” Rousey said, via Lance Pugmire of the Los Angeles Times. “May I be the first of many.” Thus far, 15 UFC fighters from "Pioneer Wing" have been inducted. Rousey will be inducted in the "Modern-Era Wing," which includes Forrest Griffin, B.J. Penn and Urijah Faber. Per Pugmire, the Hall of Fame ceremony will happen at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on July 5. UFC President Dana White issued the following statement regarding Rousey's upcoming induction:
“There would be no women in UFC without Ronda Rousey. Ronda is an absolute pioneer who helped me — and a lot of other people — look at women in combat sports differently.
She accomplished everything she set out to do with UFC and became a global icon and role model in the process. Today, the women’s divisions are packed with incredibly talented fighters and they produce some of the best fights you’ll ever see.”

Rousey's last five wins in UFC took place in 1:06 or less, with two of them happening in 16 seconds or fewer. However, she was upset by Holly Holm at UFC 193 - losing via KO in just 0:59. She returned to the octagon at UFC 207 13 months later, but Rousey lost to Amanda Nunes in just 48 seconds. The loss essentially ended Rousey's UFC career, as she took significant time away, tried to deal with the loss on an emotional basis but has since opted not to come back. Rousey is now in the midst of the next big stage of her life as a WWE superstar. She's set to face Nia Jax for the Raw Women's Championship at next Sunday's Money in the Bank pay-per-view. It would be something special if she was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame while holding a WWE title belt.
