Seth Rollins will be rooting for Daniel Cormier when he faces Brock Lesnar and has already let the UFC fighter know that.

When Brock Lesnar was invited into the ring by Daniel Cormier at UFC 226 a week and a half ago, wrestling fans' hearts likely sank. Clearly, The Beast Incarnate is now shifting his focus back to UFC while he still has the WWE Universal Championship. The last time we saw Lesnar defend the title in WWE was at Greatest Royal Rumble versus Roman Reigns, so almost three months ago.

Thankfully, Lesnar's absence is about to come to an end. Kurt Angle issued an ultimatum at Extreme Rules on Sunday, show up on Raw or be stripped of the Universal Title. The next night, Lesnar's advocate Paul Heyman reluctantly agreed to his client appearing at SummerSlam to defend the title. The winner of a match between Reigns and Bobby Lashley will decide his number one contender.

Even though Lesnar's return to UFC has been confirmed, it is still a long way off. The Beast re-entered the USADA testing pool at the beginning of July. That means he won't be able to fight in UFC until at least January 2019. That's likely when the Cormier match will take place. You might think come January, Lesnar will have the backing of his WWE peers. Well, that's where you'd be wrong.

Cormier recently spoke to Instinct Culture, revealing that he is good friends with Seth Rollins. He also revealed the contents of a text that The Architect sent him right after UFC 226. Apparently, the text read "congratulations now go kick Brock's ass." Cormier joked "Maybe that's why [Lesnar's] mad at me because I'm friends with Seth Rollins."

Many fans hoped that it would be Rollins who was given the chance to dethrone Lesnar when the time came. Unfortunately, that role is going to fall to one of three men, and none of them are The Kingslayer. Obviously, you have Reigns and Lashley, but there is also the possibility of Braun Strowman cashing in his Money In The Bank contract on The Beast at SummerSlam. Let's be honest, that's the only possible scenario left that fans want to see unfold.
