After spending years watching certain superstars on TV, it’s always fun to see their children come through the pipeline on their own journey. Both the AEW and WWE rosters are filled the sons and daughters of wrestlers' past. There might even come a time when the rosters are heavier on the generational side than not.

But not everyone is born into wrestling royalty. Or they were royalty before wrestling went mainstream. Some folks just happen to have been born into a family where their dad happened to have been a wrestler. In any event, the amount of generational kids in the business is probably bigger than you know.

10 Carmella

Carmella And Paul Van Dale

As a lifelong fan who idolized Miss Elizabeth, Carmella spent several years honing her craft in NXT before becoming one of the most well-rounded superstars on the main roster.

The former SmackDown Women’s Champion has done it all from dance breaks with R-Truth to wearing a mask to protect her face. Her father had made several appearances on Raw for as a Journeyman getting bounced around by the likes of Diesel - Paul Van Dale.

9 Nick Patrick

Jody Hamilton And Nick Patrick

For years in WCW, Nick Patrick was the senior referee until he fell under the whimsy spell of the nWo and became their exclusive referee. He also headed to the WWE during the Invasion angle. There’s a reason Raquel Rodriguez is called Big Mami Cool. She cuts an impressive visage, towering over the women’s division and will undoubtedly rule SmackDown as champion one day.

7 Jinder Mahal

Gama Singh And Jinder Mahal

The WWE Universe has been split on a superstar like Jinder Mahal for some time now. Mainly because he went from being part of a comedy act and released to being brought back and having the rocket ship strapped to his back, which was seemingly a political move to have the first ever Indian WWE champion.

In any event, Jinder made the most of his situation and did a fair job as the champion. His uncle was the great Gama Singh, who terrorized Stampede Wrestling for years.

6 Kenny Omega

The Golden Sheik And Kenny Omega

You won’t get an argument from a lot of people on the topic of Kenny Omega being one of the greatest wrestlers in the world. He spent the majority of his AEW title reign with Don Callis by his side. No, those two aren’t related. But Callis does feel a kindred kinship with The Cleaner.

He was trained by Omega’s uncle, The Golden Sheik. The Sheik unfortunately passed away long before Omega became a household name, otherwise he’d probably be right at his side as well.

5 Rey Mysterio

Rey Misterio And Rey Mysterio

Having recently celebrated twenty years since debuting in the WWE, Rey Mysterio has cemented his place a first ballot Hall of Famer. During his eventual speech, he will undoubtedly tell stories about coming up in Mexico watching his uncle, the original Rey Mysterio and how Jr. first worked as Colibri, the hummingbird.

Unlike namesakes in American wrestling, in Lucha Libre, the next generation had to go out and earn the right to carry on the lineage.

4 Ted DiBiase

DiBiase Family

The Million Dollar Man not only is actually a second generation star, he’s one of the few superstars who has two parents in the Sports Entertainment business.

His father was Iron Mike DiBiase, who tragically suffered a heart attack in the ring and had passed away en route to the hospital. His mother was a model and wrestler, Helen Hild who did battle on more than one occasion with The Fabulous Moolah.

3 Lexy Nair

DDP and Lexy Nair

AEW’s roving reporter and host of Outside The Ring, Lexy Nair is also a second generation superstar. At least through marriage she is. Her step-father was Diamond Dallas Page, who was married to her mother Brenda for four years.

However, when DDP is in your life, he’s not going to be the type to just walk away and Lexi still considers him to be her step-father, she aired a YouTube video celebration with both DDP and her birth father.

2 Alex Wright

Steven And Alex Wright

Alex Wright was signed to WCW at the behest of The Nature Boy. That is certainly some high praise.

But of course WCW didn’t have a heck of lot to do with the top prospect and turned him into a dancing fool and eventual German-Industrial-Rock character Berlyn. Before he left Europe for the States, he was trained by his father, British grappler Steve Wright.

1 Cameron Grimes

Tracey Caddell And Cameron Grimes

Several months back, Cameron Grimes desired nothing more than to win the NXT North American Title and do it for his dad, who unfortunately passed away before he got to see his son make it to the big time.

Grimes was trained by The Hardy Boys during his time in Impact and was a part of the Helms Dynasty with Gregory Helms. His connection to the OMEGA wrestling promotion is strong, his father was Tracey Caddell, who was one of the founding fathers of that promotion.
