Scott Hall playing the Razor Ramon character made him a major star for WWE in the New Generation Era. Few wrestlers had as much of a connection with the audience as Razor to show why WWE was rebuilding with new talents. The Ramon character had that cool vibe that Vince McMahon wanted to portray after losing veterans like Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage.

WWE pushed Razor in both the heel and face roles during the character’s time on the roster. Hall returned in the future, but he never portrayed the Ramon character again. The early half of the ‘90s saw Razor having feuds with an interesting variety of names. Every feud of Ramon in WWE will be ranked from the worst to the absolute best.

8 Dean Douglas

Shane Douglas hated his WWE experience as Dean Douglas due to issues with Razor Ramon and other members of the Kliq. Shawn Michaels suffering an injury led to him dropping the Intercontinental Championship to Douglas without having the scheduled match.

Douglas unfortunately only held the title for a few minutes before Razor defeated him to win the gold. The smaller feud between the two saw Ramon always having the upper hand and making Douglas look like a joke. This was the worst feud for either man in their WWE career during the New Generation Era.

7 Diesel

Kevin Nash and Scott Hall became best friends after working together in WWE as Diesel and Razor Ramon. The bigger feud between Razor and Shawn Michaels led to the former having a program with Diesel too as Michaels’ bodyguard.

SummerSlam 1994 was the peak of their feud when Ramon won the Intercontinental Championship by defeating Diesel. The presence of NFL player Walter Payton added another dynamic that showed how much WWE believed in the talents. Nash and Hall would become more involved in each other’s careers, later teaming in WCW.

6 Goldust

Razor Ramon was the first rival of the Goldust character when Dustin Rhodes tried to make that gimmick work. The stalking done by Goldust made Razor an uncomfortable target of the character trying to make his opponents uncomfortable before the bell even rang.

WWE was accused of having intentionally homophobic storytelling by having Ramon disgusted at Goldust’s advances. The entire angle was polarizing, and we didn’t even get a payoff due to Razor’s suspension. WWE replaced Ramon with Roddy Piper facing Goldust instead in the WrestleMania 12 cinematic match.

5 Ted DiBiase

One of the most underrated rivals of Scott Hall’s career was Ted DiBiase during his Razor Ramon years. WWE turned Razor face by having DiBiase berate him for losing to the smaller newcomer the 123 Kid in a huge upset.

DiBiase’s final WWE match came against Ramon at SummerSlam 1993, putting the newer star over. The heel work of DiBiase made it easier for fans to cheer Razor after he debuted in a heel role. An important victory defeating a legend and former main eventer helped Ramon thrive afterwards as a face.

4 Bret Hart

Many fans forget about Razor Ramon’s feud with Bret Hart since it came so early into his run. WWE mostly added Razor into tag match programs with bigger names as a heel before he moved into a singles angle with Bret for the WWE Championship.

A new heel was needed who could benefit from losing to Bret at Royal Rumble 1993. Ramon was the right choice and built interest in the match by running down the Hart family. Bret defended the WWE Championship and defeated Razor in a big match, but it helped Ramon to just work in a main event program.

3 123 Kid

WWE introduced Sean Waltman as the 123 Kid with an all-time great underdog moment. Everyone thought Razor Ramon was going to easily beat this enhancement talent in a Raw match that didn’t seem all that different from the typical squash match.

The shocking upset saw 123 Kid being a made man by defeating Ramon. WWE went back to this feud a while back with the roles reversed. 123 Kid was the heel betraying Ramon, leading to more matches between the two. Razor won the feud in a “crybaby match” that saw 123 Kid placed in a diaper and powered for comedic effect.

2 Jeff Jarrett

Jeff Jarrett became one of the better heels of the New Generation Era since he knew how to get heat going back to his impressive work in Nashville. WWE had Jarrett and Razor Ramon feuding over the Intercontinental Championship for many months.

Both wrestlers traded wins in PPV matches over the course of a few months. The chemistry was there with fans loving Razor and despising Jarrett. WWE made the Intercontinental Championship feel important during this time thanks to feuds like this adding interest.

1 Shawn Michaels

The highest peak of the Razor Ramon character came when feuding with Shawn Michaels. WWE had a unique story of both men having rightful claims to being champ when Razor won the title during Michaels’ suspension at the time.

This set up the incredible first ladder match at WrestleMania 10 that played a huge role in WWE’s future. Another ladder match at SummerSlam 1995 showed how superb their chemistry was. Ramon’s feud with Michaels helped him build a credible debate for being the greatest Intercontinental Champion of all time.
