Is there anything in wrestling more commonly mentioned than a family connection? Wrestling companies talk about family connections between wrestlers as if they were talking about the pedigree of a purebred dog or the ancestry of a championship-winning racehorse. Families like the Anoa'i, Hart, and Von Erich families have multiple generations of talent that have performed in professional wrestling. While some wrestlers adopt their family names to keep their legacies alive, others will change their names to forge their path in professional wrestling.

1 Jake "the Snake" Roberts, Rockin' Robin, and Sam Houston

Jake The Snake Roberts WrestleMania 6 Promo

Jake "The Snake" Roberts is widely regarded as one of the best wrestlers in WWE history to never hold a World Heavyweight Title in WWE or NWA. During the prime of his career, Roberts was considered one of the best, if not the best, promos in professional wrestling and was one of the finest at working what many call "in-ring psychology". Roberts was the son of another psychotic wrestler in Grizzly Smith.

Smith also had two other children that would go into professional wrestling in Rockin' Robin, a former WWE Women's Champion, who wrestled for WWE from 1987 to 1989.

Robin and Roberts also had a half-brother who wrestled as Sam Houston or the Midnight Rider during his in-ring career. Despite all three wrestlers being fathered by Grizzly Smith, none of them would take on the Smith name while wrestling due to wanting to distance themselves from their abusive father.
