WWE show Talking Smack has been renamed The SmackDown Lowdown, with the first episode airing last Saturday.

The name change is the only novelty where the show is concerned. It features the very same format: two panelists providing fans with a recap of what happened on SmackDown the previous night. Interviews are also conducted backstage.

The first season of Talking Smack launched in 2016. The show has been hosted by Renee Young (Renee Paquette), Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson) and Paul Heyman, as well as others, in the past.

Why The Show Was Renamed

According to The Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, the name was changed in order to avoid confusion with the upcoming A&E show WWE Smack Talk (H/T WrestlingNews.co). The latter is set to debut on July 10 and will present hosts Booker T, Peter Rosenberg, and Jackie Redmond dissecting notable incidents from the week’s episodes of Biography: WWE Legends and WWE Rivals.

The panel will be joined by guests, including current WWE stars, legends, and celebrities. There will be new seasons of Biography: WWE Legends and WWE Rivals premiering on the same date.

WWE filed to trademark WWE Smack Talk earlier this month.
