On Tuesday, WWE announced that the Riddle-Seth Rollins SummerSlam match is off due to the former suffering an injury on this week's edition of Raw.

The Architect attacked Riddle on the go-home SummerSlam edition of Raw. WWE later announced that Riddle suffered a stinger and will not be able to wrestle again until he returns to "full strength." Unless WWE makes a late change, The Visionary will be off of SummerSlam for the first time in nine years.

In an update, Fightful Select (ht/ WrestlingNews.co), reports that Riddle "injury" is just part of a storyline, and that the current idea is to have Riddle face Rollins at Clash at the Castle. That event will be held on Sept. 3 inside Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. Fightful also heard that the match was scrapped because of "creative adjustments."

There is speculation that new creative team head Triple H, who reportedly wants to make a giant "splash" for SummerSlam, could add Rollins to the SummerSlam card with another opponent. We'll just have to wait and see how everything plays out this Saturday at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee.
