While he might have recently ended his partnership with JBL, Baron Corbin is going on for over a decade in the WWE. The Kansas City native has accomplished a lot in the world's biggest wrestling promotion. Corbin is a former United States champion, King of the Ring winner, and even retired Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35.

That being said, Corbin has become a divisive figure on WWE programming over the last few years. While some fans have liked his constant gimmick changes and creative mind, others are more inclined to reach for the remote when the Modern Day Wrestling God comes on screen.

10 Hate: Mediocre in-ring Ability

Baron Corbin JBL

In some ways, Baron Corbin is his own worst enemy. Not because he's this horrendous wrestler or a terrible promo, or anything like that. Honestly, a lot of fans really hate Corbin simply because he doesn't jump off the screen with much as he does.

In the ring, he's fine from a technical perspective. But beyond his finishing maneuver, Corbin isn't very interesting to watch in-ring. Considering that's the main job of a professional wrestler, that's a bit of a problem.

9 Love: Safe Worker

Baron Corbin Vs Kurt Angle

On the other end of things, while he might be a bit bland in the ring, Baron Corbin is one of the safest workers on the WWE roster. While some fans didn't like him being the one to retire Kurt Angle in 2019, there was a clear reason why.

Corbin was able to put on a solid match with the aging legend while also keeping him safe at WrestleMania 35. He might not be the most thrilling at times, but he's safe, doesn't botch his moves often, and is a reliable worker.

8 Hate: Boring at Times

Baron Corbin's mediocrity doesn't just stay in the ring, however. Sadly, for long stretches of his career, it didn't matter what he did or didn't do, he just wasn't interesting. Some wrestlers have the "It" factor, and some don't have it.

Corbin is more in the second camp than the first. While he's had a lot of great moments on-screen during his time in the WWE, he's also had a lot of terribly boring ones as well.

7 Love: Willingness to Try

It might sound a bit weird to say that one of the reasons a wrestler is beloved is for his willingness to try, but that couldn't be any truer for Baron Corbin. Part of the reason why he's had so many terrible and boring moments on screen is thanks to a lot of the terrible storylines he's been forced into.

Regardless of the storylines that he's been a part of, good or not, Corbin puts his all into everything he does. Whether it turns out great all the time is a different conversation entirely.

6 Hate: Doesn't Overachieve

While Baron Corbin has been elevating terrible material into slightly passable television, he's been unable to do much more than that. It feels like while he's always been an average talent, he's been unable to overachieve when given the keys to the car, so to speak.

Corbin has had some massive matches over the years, including high-profile feuds with names such as Roman Reigns and more. Despite facing some big names, he was unable to do anything very memorable.

5 Love: Make Something Out Of Nothing

Baron Corbin vs. Seth Rollins

Funnily enough, when Baron Corbin has stepped up to the top level of the WWE and had a world title feud or faced a legend, he's been a bit disappointing. It's really when the Lone Wolf hasn't been handed a big opportunity that he does his best work.

Corbin might never be a headliner or WWE Champion, but he's a perfect mid-card villain. He's been saddled with some horrific gimmicks, storylines, and more over the years. But, he's been able to turn some of that terrible material into something great.

4 Hate: Fails to Capitalize on Momentum

JBL and Baron Corbin

On the other side of the coin, while Baron Corbin has been able to make something out of nothing, he's unable to keep it going for long. He will catch lightning in a bottle, and seemingly not be sure of what to do from there, which is likely why WWE has never kept him in a consistent main event position.

Corbin has had some big and memorable moments in his career. However, they're few and far between, as he is unable to keep the momentum going after those big moments and successes.

3 Love: Promo Ability

Love or hate Baron Corbin, there are few things that he's better at than getting heat. It doesn't matter what town, crowd, or venue he's in front of, there's a good chance he's going to be attracting boos. The main reason is that Corbin is pretty comfortable on a microphone.

He's not The Rock or Paul Heyman or anything, but the man can cut a pretty solid promo. He doesn't have any pipebomb promos or anything like that, but he's also one of the most consistently good talkers on the roster.

2 Hate: History

Roman Reigns Vs Baron

It's hard not to feel bad for him a little bit, but Baron Corbin will largely be hated by a section of fans just thanks to his history. Given that he's been in the WWE for a decade, he's been a part of some brutal moments and terrible matches.

For example, his WrestleMania 35 match with Kurt Angle, and his absurdly long feuds with Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, they're hard to forget. When your most memorable moments are your worst, you're going to be hated by some fans.

1 Love: Character Ability

Broke Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin invests himself into every character that he portrays one hundred percent. That's best evidenced by his Sad Corbin gimmick in 2021 that should've failed on paper. Instead, he turned into a hilarious character that was way better than it should've been.

Part of the reason it got over is Corbin's willingness to get into the gimmick and allows himself to be made fun of. That's commendable, and one of the best things about the big man.
