Professional wrestling is all about the storylines and feuds that keep fans on the edge of their seats. From bitter rivalries to unexpected alliances, the drama and excitement of WWE never fail to captivate audiences. But when it comes to deciding the winners and losers of these epic battles, the WWE creative team often faces tough decisions, even in relatively straightforward storylines.

With so many talented wrestlers and larger-than-life personalities in the mix, picking the right victor can be a daunting task. This list will examine 5 recent WWE feuds where they chose the right winner and 5 where they got it wrong.

10 Chose The Right Winner: Cody Rhodes Vs. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins v Cody Rhodes WrestleMania 38 Cropped

The WWE booked a perfect opponent for Cody Rhodes after his return to the company. He and Seth Rollins are two of the most talented wrestlers on the planet and their feud helped introduce Cody back to WWE audiences in a big way. Rhodes went 3 and 0 against Rollins, which was perfect.

The success that Cody had with Rollins not only helped quickly establish the American Nightmare as a top star in the WWE, the injury that ensued also helped add drama and hype up his match against Roman at WrestleMania 39.

9 Chose Wrong: Big E Vs. Apollo Crews

Big E v Apollo Crews WrestleMania 37 Cropped

Apollo Crews has had an up-and-down career in the WWE. He entered into a great feud with Big E in 2021 that led to matches at Fastlane and WrestleMania. Although Big E won more of their televised matches, Crews left their feud with the Intercontinental Championship.

It led to a lackluster run for Crews that did little to bolster him as a star. It was an unnecessary lull for Big E who eventually became WWE Champion.

8 Chose The Right Winner: Bianca Belair Vs. Becky Lynch

Bianca Belair Vs Becky Lynch WrestleMania 38

Bianca Belair has been on a tear since WrestleMania 37. Becky Lynch was the best foe Belair faced as world champion. Her loss to Lynch at SummerSlam 2021 was questionable, but it did serve a solid purpose since Bianca reworked her way up the ladder to become a top star in the business.

Becky Lynch put her over at WrestleMania 38, which ended their feud in the best way possible.

7 Chose Wrong: Bobby Lashley Vs. Goldberg

Bobby-Lashley-v-Goldberg-SummerSlam-2021-Cropped-1

Bobby Lashley and Goldberg entered into a random feud in 2021 that ended with Goldberg dominating Lashley at Crown Jewel 2021. It makes no sense for Goldberg to be able to defeat any top star in the WWE, today.

Lashley looked soft against Goldberg, and it didn't help that he was fresh off of losing the WWE Championship.

6 Chose The Right Winner: Edge Vs. The Miz

Edge & Beth Phoenix v The Miz & Maryse Royal Rumble 2022 Cropped

The Miz and Edge entered into their first feud in over a decade in 2022. In all honesty, not many fans were excited to see the two battle it out since there are still a few "dream matches" left for Edge on the current active roster.

Edge bested the Miz at Day 1 and the Royal Rumble. It was not a great feud, but luckily Edge was not buried in an attempt to shake things up.

5 Chose Wrong: Pat McAfee Vs. Austin Theory

Pat McAfee Commentator Vs Austin Theory

Austin Theory has often been presented as the "future of the industry." Despite the constant push, Theory fell to Pat McAfee, of all people, during a feud that led to a match at WrestleMania 38.

If Theory is supposed to be the future, it will be tough for some fans to look past the fact that he lost to an announcer during his first singles match at WrestleMania.

4 Chose The Right Winner: The Usos Vs. RK-Bro

The Usos and RK-Bro faceoff Cropped

The last major feud of RK-Bro's time as a unit happened against The Usos (Jimmy and Jey) in 2022. In the end, The Usos ended up winning the Raw Tag Team Championships from RK-Bro unifying the tag titles.

It was a great way to help make the Bloodline look like a top-tier faction in the WWE. It also made sense away from the ring since Orton left due to injury after the feud.

3 Chose Wrong: Charlotte Flair Vs. Ronda Rousey

Charlotte Flair Vs Ronda Rousey

The WWE threw Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair into a messy feud in the lead-up to WrestleMania 38. It was only the second time that the two ever clashed in the ring, and it should have been better but was a bumpy storyline.

Ronda Rousey was on a downward slope in the build-up to this match and a victory at WrestleMania could have been a solid push forward. Instead, Rousey won the title at Backlash and no fan had her back as champion.

2 Chose The Right Winner: Roman Reigns Vs. Brock Lesnar

Roman Reigns v Brock Lesnar WrestleMania 38 Cropped-2

Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar reignited their rivalry in 2021. Roman Reigns had run through every big name on the WWE roster as a heel, and it only made sense that the two would clash at WrestleMania 38.

They met again at SummerSlam, where Lesnar was bested once more in a thrilling clash. The Tribal Chief left their feud as an even bigger name in the world of wrestling. If there was a person on the WWE roster that felt capable of toppling Reigns, it was Lesnar. Reigns felt more invincible than ever thanks to this rivalry.

1 Chose Wrong: Edge Vs. AJ Styles

Edge AJ Styles Royal Rumble

Edge and AJ Styles competed in a "dream match" at WrestleMania 38. Although Edge deserved the victory at the Showcase of the Immortals, AJ Styles should have ended things with the final win in their feud. Edge ended up getting the advantage at WrestleMania Backlash 2022 although it seems only fair that the two legends split their wins. Their feud might be over forever, which means Styles will end their feud without a single victory against Edge.
