All fans know despite his age, Ric Flair loves wrestling so much that he will never be able to give it up entirely. That's why more than a decade after his last match, The Nature Boy will return to the ring one more time. Since neither WWE nor AEW appeared to be interested in having Flair wrestle on their products, he will have the match at Starrcast in an event that will revive Jim Crockett Promotions for one night only.

Who's He Facing?

There's now a little more than a month to go until the big night, and we still don't know who Flair will be facing. In fact, if you believe the man himself, even Naitch doesn't know who it will be. When asked by a reporter during this week's Starrcast x Fite TV press conference (via Wrestling Headlines) for the event who his opponent is going to be, Flair said he doesn't know because he's not the one booking the show.

The two-time Hall of Famer also mentioned “we'll get the opponents put together”, leaning into the rumors that Flair's match will be a six-person tag. FTR is rumored to be a part of the festivities, as is Hulk Hogan, and apparently Ricky Steamboat turned down the opportunity to be opposite Flair. A real shame as Steamboat is probably in as good shape now as he was 20 years ago.

More Matches Announced

While Flair's opponents and potential partners remain unclear, a few other matches on the show have now been confirmed. Impact Wrestling will be heavily involved as both the World and Knockouts Titles will be on the line. Josh Alexander will defend his title against Jacob Fatu, and Jordynne Grace will have Deonna Purrazzo and Rachael Ellering vying for her championship. Grace won the Knockouts Title at Slammiversary last Sunday.

While the overwhelming reaction from fans appeared to be a collective eye-roll when Flair confirmed he was planning on wrestling again, there's clearly an interest in this match. So many tickets had sold for the event before any other matches were announced that it had to be moved to a larger venue.
