This Wednesday’s rendition of AEW Dynamite has a special theme to it; the episode is going to be presented by HBO’s new series House of Dragons, a prequel to the hit Game of Thrones series. Tomorrow’s episode will consequently feature a lot of dragon imagery.

The Dragon Comes Back To TBS

Ric Flair vs. Ricky Steamboat (WCW Saturday Night, 5/14/1994)

AEW’s Twitter account made the following announcement late last night:

For tomorrow’s Wednesday Night #AEWDynamite presented by @HBO’s @HouseofDragon, we have the perfect special guest timekeeper for the event: Ricky The Dragon Steamboat, one of the greatest pro wrestlers of all-time, making his return to @TBSNetwork tomorrow night at 8pm ET/7pm CT!

This will be Ricky Steamboat’s first appearance on TBS since his time in WCW. The rest of the card is shaping up to be a solid show as well; the Varsity Blonds (Brian Pillman Jr and Griff Garrison) are set to take on the Gunn Club (Austin and Colten Gunn). Toni Storm will be facing KiLynn King, and “the Dragonslayer” Daniel Garcia is set to face the American Dragon, Bryan Danielson.

Perhaps the most highly anticipated bout is the first match in AEW’s inaugural Trios Championship Tournament. Andrade El Idolo, Rush, and Dragon Lee (fitting, isn’t it?) will face the Young Bucks and a partner of their choosing. The identity of the bucks’ partner remains a mystery (perhaps even to the bucks themselves).

Fans tuning in tomorrow are in for a treat featuring both wrestling legends and stars in the making.
