Universal Champion Roman Reigns came face-to-face with Seth Rollins following this week's Monday Night Raw broadcast.

Rollins interfered in the main event between WWE Champion Big E and Kevin Owens, which resulted in a disqualification victory for the latter. As a result, The Prized Fighter was added to the upcoming WWE Championship match at the Day 1 pay-per-view, which will run inside State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on New Year's Day.

Following the Raw broadcast, Reigns and The Usos showed up and stared Rollins down on the stage for a few moments. You can see a video and a photo of the confrontation below:

It was noted by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com that The Tribal Chief "easily got the biggest pop of the night." Reigns, Jimmy and Jey Uso faced Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods and Drew McIntyre in a six-man tag team match after Raw. The babyfaces won after McIntyre delivered a Claymore to score the pinfall on one of the Usos, per Johnson.

Rollins commented on a possible feud with Reigns earlier this year, but they were drafted to different brands in October. With The Architect still working as a top heel on Raw, there isn't exactly a clear path to the rekindling of a program with his longtime friend.

What's Next For Rollins & Reigns

While Rollins tries to win the WWE Championship off of Big E, Reigns is preparing to defend his Universal title against Sami Zayn, who became the new No.1 contender after winning a battle royal on last week's episode of SmackDown.

However, it also looks like Reigns will soon resume his feud with Brock Lesnar. At the end of SmackDown, it was announced that Lesnar's suspension has been lifted, and The Beast Incarnate will return on this week's show. So it'll be interesting to see if WWE ties in Reigns' programs with both Zayn and Lesnar here as the build up for Day 1 commences.
