Roman Reigns has reached several incredible milestones during his two-year run as the Universal Champion, but the latest one may be his most impressive milstone yet.

The Tribal Chief has now gone over 1,000 days without being pinned. He last took a clean loss against King Corbin at the TLC: Tables, Ladders & Chairs 2019 pay-per-view on Dec. 15 of that year. Corbin defeated Reigns in a TLC match thanks to some help from Dolph Ziggler and The Revival.

This isn't the only historic milestone that the 37-year-old superstar recently reached. Aug. 30 also marked the two-year anniversary of Reigns defeating Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman at the Payback 2020 pay-per-view to win the Universal title. He is far and away the longest reigning Universal Champion in the title belt's history.

Reigns nearly fell to Drew McIntyre at last week's Clash at the Castle pay-per-view, but he narrowly outlasted The Scottish Warrior to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. During his title reign, The Tribal Chief has defeated a plethora of marquee stars that includes McIntyre, Edge, Big E, Goldberg, John Cena, Brock LEsnar (three times), Kevin Owens and Daniel Bryan.

Dave Meltzer reported in the newest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required) that Reigns isn't on the card for Extreme Rules (the next WWE pay-per-view, on Oct. 8), and that his next big bout will take place at the upcoming Nov. 5 Crown Jewel pay-per-view in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. If that's the case, Reigns' record Universal Championship run and streak without being pinned will continue for a while longer.

A Career-Defining Run For Roman Reigns

WWE spent nearly five full years trying to push Reigns as their top babyface. But without a doubt, the current run is far-and-away the greatest of Reigns' career. Few WWE superstars have enjoyed such a dominant multi-year run atop the company, and Reigns isn't even done yet.

A dream match with The Rock at WrestleMania 39 could send Reigns' already impressive WWE legacy to another level, for instance. Even when he eventually loses the title, it doesn't at all mean that Reigns will lose his star power nor stop reaching more special milestones.
