Rob Van Dam is one of the greatest high flyers to ever step foot in a wrestling ring. Today, wrestling has embraced innovative diving move sets more than ever, but no wrestler put unique high flying to the forefront of wrestlers more than RVD.

Van Dam's run to the top of the WWE was filled with highs and lows. He led the charge for WWE's ECW reboot and is the only person to hold the ECW and WWE titles at the same time. With a career that spans almost three decades, Van Dam has competed with many wrestling stars. This list will examine RVD's best and worst tag team partners' of his hall of fame career.

10 Best: Sabu

Sabu and Rob Van Dam are two of the biggest names in the history of ECW. Their presence helped the company stand out in a sea of wrestling companies in the 90s. Both stars would have a chance to succeed outside of ECW and RVD found much more success despite Sabu's insane talent.

The two were ECW tag team champions, which was also RVD's first major title at the company. They would go on to team up in the WWE and TNA Impact. They had victories over many legends including The Hardys (Jeff Hardy & Matt Hardy) and The Dudley Boyz (Buh Buh Ray Dudley & D-Von Dudley).

9 Worst: Tazz

Tazz

Despite being ECW legends, RVD and Tazz never teamed up at the company. Both men had huge expectations in the WWE, but Tazz is often considered a massive flop thanks to his short career.

As a tag team unit, the two teamed up in 2001 on an episode of Raw. They lacked chemistry and lost an average match to Chris Jericho & Kurt Angle. It was the only time the stars ever teamed up for a televised match.

8 Best: Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio and Rob Van Dam

The pairing of Rey Mysterio and RVD in the early 2000s was a "dream" tag team unit for many fans. The two were underdogs who were both massively over with WWE fans.

In 2002, the pair defeated Kenzo Suzuki & Rene Dupree to earn the WWE tag team titles. They competed many times as a unit in the WWE and had great matches. Their title defenses included a win over the juggernaut team of Booker T and Eddie Guerrero.

7 Worst: Spike Dudley

Spike Dudley is another wrestler who rose to fame in ECW. He was a staple in the tag team division at ECW and also became a tag team champion in the WWE (with Tazz).

Dudley and RVD never teamed up in ECW. The pair finally became a tag team unit on an episode of Raw in 2002. They lost to Eddie Guerrero & William Regal in a lackluster affair. Their one match as a tag team was nothing special.

6 Best: Booker T

Booker T and Rob Van Dam

Some fans forget RVD and Booker T were once WWE tag team champions. They had two very different styles of wrestling but gelled well both in promos and in the ring as a unit.

The pair teamed up to destroy their common enemy, Evolution, in a great storyline that led to Booker and RVD defeating Batista & Ric Flair to earn the tag team titles. They would lose the titles back to Evolution in a little over a month but did defend the titles at WrestleMania 20.

5 Worst: Lance Storm

Lance Storm

Lance Storm and RVD competed against each other in both ECW and the WWE. Storm never caught on as a solo wrestler, but did become a big name in the tag team division both at ECW and the WWE. He held tag team titles with big names like Christian and William Regal.

RVD and Storm only had a few televised tag team matches and none of them were anything noteworthy. They competed against interesting opponents like Chris Jericho and Scott Steiner but never caught on as a unit due to a lack of chemistry.

4 Best: Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy was one of the first people RVD ever wrestled in the WWE. The two have such unique styles as competitors that a tag team featuring the two of them was met with high expectations from fans. Whether they teamed up in the WWE or Impact, their matches always delivered.

With Hardy, Van Dam put on great matches against stars like Eddie Guerrero, Booker T, and The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray Dudley & D-Von Dudley). They also wrestled a great match at Impact in a winning effort against Beer Money Inc. (James Storm & Robert Roode).

3 Worst: Christian York

Christian York

RVD's time in TNA was up and down. Although his arrival was met with huge fanfare and he sometimes tried to elevate talent despite a clear lack of chemistry.

Christian York was one of the forgotten partners of Van Dam's time at Impact. The two only teamed up once in a losing effort to Kenny King & Zema Ion that did little to elevate any star in the match.

2 Best: The Rock

The Rock RVD

As Van Dam began to climb the card in the WWE, he and The Rock crossed paths many times. As a unit in 2001/2002, they went on an absolute tear.

Along with putting on fun matches as a team, they defeated huge tag team units that included the likes of Kurt Angle, The Undertaker, and Chris Jericho.

1 Worst: Mr. Anderson

Mr Anderson TNA

Mr. Anderson will always be one of the biggest "what ifs" in the history of the WWE. He seemed destined to be a WWE world champion, but an injury derailed "Mr. Kennedy" and he never truly recovered.

Anderson and RVD teamed up on a few episodes of Impact. They lacked chemistry as a unit and lost all of their televised matches. Despite being huge talents, they had few memorable moments as a unit.
