In WWE, long-term storytelling has felt like a long-forgotten tool to present feuds, but since Triple H took command of WWE creative, fans have a renewed faith in the current product and look forward to where certain storylines are headed. One of the most captivating parts of weekly WWE television at the moment is Sami Zayn’s inclusion in The Bloodline faction. There are several avenues to take with this story, but one of both the more attractive and the most logical directions would be to see Sami Zayn team up with Kevin Owens to battle The Usos at WrestleMania 39, with the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship on the line.

Sami Zayn’s Time in The Bloodline Has Been Fantastic

Sami Zayn’s heel run has turned out far better than many fans expected, as he has often turned awful content into pure gold, with his charisma truly shining in his role. Whether it be working alongside Logan Paul, Brock Lesnar, or Johnny Knoxville, Zayn has consistently been the most entertaining part of WWE programming. Over time, this has seen renewed support in Zayn from the fans, whose love for him has seen the beginning of a natural and gradual babyface turn, with him pretty much being a de facto good guy, despite being a part of the biggest heel stable in WWE.

Zayn’s involvement in The Bloodline has added cracks to the group’s core, with Jey Uso especially seething at his shenanigans, jokes, and personality, especially since he isn’t related to the other members. It seems as though Roman Reigns, the leader, is using Zayn to both torment Jey Uso, and to also do some of his dirty work for him, with it feeling as though he could easily snap at any given time, much to the ignorance of Zayn. This aspect has made Zayn all the more likable and grounded too, rather than looking idiotic or dumb, which is an example of wonderful character work. However, due to these cracks, a split between the group is inevitable.

Kevin Owens Should Help Bring About A Sami Zayn Babyface Turn

No matter how they go about it, Zayn needs to come out of this as a huge babyface, and to further cement that he needs some back-up in his eventual war against The Bloodline - and the seeds have already been planted for this. Zayn’s long-time friend and rival, Kevin Owens, has previously called Zayn out for being in The Bloodline, talking about how he was once considered one of the best professional wrestlers in the world, but is now a joke.

This should be a big part of him becoming a babyface, by re-finding his old self as a show-stealing underdog who is full of heart and soul. Even with his several years of being a heel, fans will completely buy his turn to the good, becoming a version of his former self (though with a mixture of his evolved personality). Owens should be the one to get him to that point, with the pair always bringing the best out of each other, whether that be as teammates or opponents. With WWE's final PPV before WrestleMania 39, Elimination Chamber, taking place in Zayn's hometown of Montreal, Quebec, Canada, this gives WWE a major opportunity to advance Zayn's story on PPV.

Sami Zayn And Kevin Owens Winning The Tag Titles Would Be A Great WrestleMania Moment

It would make sense for a reunion between Owens and Zayn to lead to a feud with The Usos, and by the time WrestleMania rolls around, there will be a year-long history between all those involved (even more-so in the case of Owens, who has had issues with The Bloodline in the past). Owens and Zayn have been without Tag Team gold since joining WWE, with Owens stating multiple times that winning those belts is a goal of his, explaining on the TWC Show that he would want to win the titles with Sami Zayn too. Having two huge names gunning for the Tag Team Titles will also further add to the ever-growing prestige of the titles.

By the time WrestleMania 39 rolls around, The Usos will have been on a record-breaking reign as Tag Team Champions, nearing two years with the belts by that point. A major babyface victory for Zayn and Owens would make for one hell of a moment - one which they undoubtedly deserve too, especially after the previous year of putting others over in their respective WrestleMania bouts. It very much seems as though this is the direction WWE is headed, and when looking at the tag team division, there is perhaps no better and fresher choice for WrestleMania than this match. Of course, seeing Zayn challenge Roman Reigns would be terrific, but it is highly doubtful that WWE would book that for WrestleMania, so to ensure the most entertaining name in WWE right now has something to do at the show, he and Owens should challenge The Usos.
