2022 was an up-and-down year for wrestling, but certainly, one of the biggest, if not the biggest highlight was the saga of The Bloodline in WWE. Roman Reigns' unending title reign was beginning to get stale until Sami Zayn was added into the mix. His charisma and the fantastic storytelling between The Honorary Uce and The Bloodline has made Zayn more popular than ever. Though Cody Rhodes and The Rock are seen by many as the best chance to be the one to knock Reigns from his throne, Sami Zayn shouldn't be counted out, especially when a feud with Reigns seems imminent.

Zayn addressed fan desire (and his own) to see him as a WWE Champion in an interview with The Detroit News, saying, "When you get this close and you're in the in the periphery of the WWE title, it makes you think, well, I'm already here, maybe winning it's not totally unrealistic. That would for sure be like a cherry on top of everything else. If it happens, awesome. If it doesn't happen, it still would have all been awesome. I mean really, since I can't even tell you how early into my career, probably three years in, I remember thinking, 'well, this is it, it can't get better than this.' And then somehow each year, it just kept getting bigger and bigger," Zayn says. "You would think I would learn at this point to stop saying it, but I am also content with everything I've done. I don't want to be the type of person who feels like, oh, there's a void unless I get this next thing, and if I don't accomplish this, I'm a failure or my career was a failure. Whatever happens, I'm good. It could end tomorrow, and knock on wood, I really hope it doesn't, but I would feel very complete and very satisfied with everything I've ever done. Can Sami Zayn Become A WWE Champion?

Sami Zayn has been the NXT Champion and a three time Intercontinental Champion, but he's never been the face of WWE. It seems as if it's Cody Rhodes' fate to be next, but with Sami Zayn being such a fan favorite, could we see plans change, such as in years past with the rise of Daniel Bryan and Kofi Kingston? If Sami Zayn is to ever be the WWE Champion, there won't be a better time to do it than now.
