Veteran WWE superstar Sami Zayn is pulling for Roman Reigns in the latter's upcoming title match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam 2022.

On July 30, Reigns and Lesnar will square off inside Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennessee in a Last Man Standing bout for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The Tribal Chief defeated the then-WWE Champion in the main event of WrestleMania 38 (a unified championship match) to claim both titles.

In recent weeks, Zayn has been very friendly towards The Bloodline. He has the obvious goal of eventually joining the stable, so it's no wonder that he would like Reigns to once again get the better of Lesnar at SummerSlam 2022.

During an appearance on WWE's The Bump (h/t Sportskeeda Wrestling), Zayn explained why he's going for The Tribal Chief over the former WWE Champion.

"I am a man of integrity. That's followed me my entire career," Zayn said. "I'm rooting for Roman Reigns because Roman Reigns and the Bloodline have embraced me, accepted me and I appreciate that and I'm not about to double-cross anybody. Let's put that behind us. I don't even want to put this into the Universe and say if Brock Lesnar won or somebody else won. I don't think that far ahead. Right now, it's just about taking care of business."

Roman Reigns Brock Lesnar SummerSlam

Zayn is one of six superstars to have qualified for the men's Money in the Bank ladder match that will run this Sunday at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Omos, Riddle, Drew McIntyre, Sheamus and Seth "Freakin" Rollins have also punched their tickets to the career-changing match. The seventh spot hasn't been determined yet.

SummerSlam 2022 will mark the sixth one-on-one showdown between Reigns and Lesnar. The latter outlasted Reigns at WrestleMania 34 and The Greatest Royal Rumble pay-per-views. However, Reigns has responded with three straight victories over his long-time rival — at SummerSlam 2018, Crown Jewel 2021 and most recently WrestleMania 38. Only time will tell if Lesnar manages to even their all-time head-to-head series.

Lesnar Cost Zayn A Title Match Against Reigns Last Year

On the No. 26 episode of WWE SmackDown, Zayn won a Battle Royal to become the new No. 1 contender for Reigns' Universal Championship. A week later, however, Zayn was attacked by Lesnar moments before the title match with Reigns. The Tribal Chief quickly defeated Zayn to retain his championship.
