TNT Champion Scorpio Sky retained his gold and cemented his status as one of AEW's top heels during the climax of this week's edition of AEW Rampage on TNT.

It all went down at the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York, where Scorpio Sky put his TNT title on the line against his longtime friend and former tag team partner Scorpio Sky in the main event of the May 13 edition of Rampage (which was taped following the May 11 edition of AEW Dynamite).

In the pre-match split-screen promo moderated by Mark Henry, Sky informed his Men Of Year partner Ethan Page, and his manager Dan Lambert not to accompany him to the ring and requested that they remain in the back for the duration of the match. Needless to say, they didn't abide by this request ... but then, it wasn't a real request.

As you'd expect, Sky and Kaz had phenomenal chemistry and wowed the crowd with an excellent main event that lasted a little over 10 minutes. Kaz looked to have the match won after he locked Sky in a powerful Chicken Wing hold, but Dan Lambert ran down the ramp and distracted the ref, which allowed Ethan Page to strike Kazarian from behind with the TNT title belt. Sky went for a pin, but Kaz kicked out at 2.9 ... but his resistance was ultimately for nothing.

Sky retained the title after hitting Kazarian with a TKO for the 1-2-3. After the match, Sky cussed out Lambert and Page for ignoring his request, but it was all shenanigans. Sky and Page squared up to each other in an attempt to tease Sky's babyface turn, but then Sky turned around and hit Kazarian with the belt, ending a long-lasting friendship in the process.

Sky then embraced Page and Lambert and left his old friend reeling in the ring.
