"The Visionary" Seth Rollins has quickly become one of the best WWE Superstars in modern history. He is a multiple-time WWE Champion and has accomplished more in his time in WWE than most ever will. He signed with the company in 2010 and, in 12 years, Rollins has recreated his character over and over again.

He was part of one of the greatest factions in WWE history, The Shield, then turned his time there into a shocking moment. When he turned on The Shield, it cemented his path to success and it made him who he is today. Though Seth Rollins does have a lot of things he should be proud of, there are some things that WWE might not want fans to know about The Architect's career.

10 Wanted The Shield To Stay Together

The Shield

The Shield was a legitimate brotherhood for Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, and Seth Rollins. The three would train together, work together, travel, eat, sleep, and so on, and so forth, all together. That's why when they broke up, it was great for television but hard on the three stars.

There was a time when Vince McMahon wanted to split the group up sooner than the famous betrayal. All three men were able to convince McMahon that it was not the right time. The three were drawing money together and could do more for him together than apart. Thankfully for the fans, he listened and in a time where they hardly had any factions, The Shield was a special attraction.

9 Worked With Dean Ambrose Before

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose actually came from similar backgrounds, so it would make sense that The Shield was not the first time the two men worked together. They knew each other from the independent wrestling scene and would put on a great feud in Florida Championship Wrestling, which was WWE's developmental system at the time.

The two would battle it out regularly there but once FCW became NXT, they were placed together because they had such good chemistry. Eventually, they would go on to have one of the most exciting feuds in recent history, and their story of brotherhood will live on no matter if they ever face off again.

8 Previous Personas

Seth Rollins' real name is Colby Lopez, but like most professional wrestlers, he has not worked under that name. When he started wrestling in 2005, his first in-ring name was Gixx. That was the name he used while working with a small Iowa independent wrestling promotion, but when he joined Ian Rotten's Independent Wrestling Association Mid-South, he changed his name to Tyler Black.

He would work the next few years under the Tyler Black persona while he learned to adapt his skillset. This will be the name that he used throughout the independent circuit, and once he made his FCW debut they quickly changed it to Seth Rollins.

7 Time In Ring of Honor

While on the independent circuit, Rollins (Tyler Black at the time) spent most of his time in Ring of Honor. He made his debut for the company in 2007 when he appeared at the Man Up event alongside Jimmy Jacobs and Necro Butcher. The group attacked the Briscoes in a controversial segment where they hung Jay Briscoe from a noose.

At the end of 2009, Rollins would start a feud with ROH World Champion Austin Aries. After a few months, he would defeat Aries to win the championship. At the end of the year, he would sign his WWE contract and would end up losing his championship to Roderick Strong.

6 Relationship With CM Punk

Rollins and CM Punk

CM Punk is one of the most controversial and entertaining professional wrestlers in the last 20 years. Now he is signed with AEW after a long hiatus due to a disagreement with WWE. Before that, he worked very closely with Seth Rollins and The Shield. In fact, working with them was one of the last programs he worked on in WWE.

Rollins and Punk have deeper ties than just that WWE feud though. Punk actually asked and pushed for Rollins to have a role in The Shield. He knew how he was great at working and they both have backgrounds with Ring of Honor. They grew a friendship and from there it really helped Rollins's status. Overall, due to Punk's rocky relationship with WWE, fans really never got to see that friendship flourish on TV.

5 Time In TNA

Before there was AEW, the closest thing to competition for WWE after WCW was TNA Wrestling; now known as Impact. If a star wanted to work for a big promotion but could not get to the WWE, TNA was the next best thing. There were many stars that made their way through those doors in hopes of getting better and making it to WWE.

Under the name Tyler Black, Rollins appeared on TNA even before his time in Ring of Honor. He worked there in a tag team match with his partner being Jeff Luxon. The pair lost to LAX in a squash match, but it gave Rollins an idea of what television might be like.

4 Hell In A Cell From Hell

Seth Rollins v Bray Wyatt Hell in a Cell 2019 Cropped

Rollins has had a lot of moments that WWE would not want fans to forget, but one that they don't consider to be his best moment is the match with "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt. While Rollins was the Universal Champion in 2019, he defeated Braun Strowman but was attacked by Bray Wyatt at the end of the match.

He would then go on to compete against Wyatt at Hell in the Cell, which was considered to be the worst match of the year. The match was taking place in terrible red lighting which made it hard to see in person and on TV. Wyatt and Rollins just could not get behind the match and fans were very disappointed with the outcome. Overall, WWE does not like putting on matches that bad, so it does not seem like one they would add to a Seth Rollins highlight reel.

3 Bad Film Appearances

On top of his professional wrestling career, Seth Rollins has some amateur acting credits to his name. Most of the movies are not great. Considering that WWE has put out movie stars like The Rock, John Cena, and Batista, they might not want fans to think Rollins is the type of actor they are famous for creating.

He stared as an Astrotech in Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens. He then would appear in a few animated movies like The Jetsons & WWE: Robo-WrestleMania and 2019's Trouble. He also had small parts in the films Like a Boss and Welsey Snipes' action/horror film Armed Response.

2 His Other Business Ventures

Though Rollins dresses like a movie star, he is not a great one. He is however a pretty decent business owner. In 2014, Rollins joined his former tag team partner Mark Brave and opened up the Black and Brave Wrestling Academy which is a wrestling school in Iowa. They also have a pretty decent clothing line that goes along with their brand.

Rollins opened up his own coffee shop as well. It is called 329 Dport and it is located in the heart of his hometown, Davenport, Iowa. Now, these are great things, but in WWE they do not always like their stars going into business for themselves. They like to own the property that is their stars, so though they are okay with Rollins having these businesses, they do not make it public knowledge.

1 His Relationship Scandal

It is public knowledge however that Seth Rollins is married to fellow WWE Superstar, the former WWE Women's Champion Becky Lynch. Before his relationship with Lynch though, he had a rocky relationship history. In 2015, Rollins was dating NXT Superstar Zahara Schreiber but the problem was that he was engaged to another woman.

His ex-fiance would go on to find out about this relationship and post graphic nude photos of Rollins all over her social media. She would then go on to apologize for it, but it was a messy situation that WWE was not supportive of. Overall, it worked out in Rollins's favor as fans can focus on the power couple that is Rollins and Lynch.
