WWE Legend Sgt. Slaughter recently stated if WWE wanted him to be Lacey Evans' new manager he would gladly accept. She then responded, "Where do I report in?" The idea of them getting together means both have been a bit more popular on social media of late, especially after the latest vignette aired for Evans where she's apparently adopted his old finisher the Cobra Clutch as her new finishing maneuver.

WWE has been pushing a reimagining of Evans in recent weeks and the character is starting to look like a mashup of Slaughter's old pro-America gimmick and his anti-American run when he was the WWE World Champion. Evans is pro-America, but the videos that have been airing on SmackDown paint the picture that she believes she's better than everyone because of her Marine training and that she needs to wipe out the entire Women's Division. There is no doubt she will get booed and if WWE really wanted to sell her as a heel, bringing in a heel Slaughter might help.

There were few people as hated as Slaughter when he played his Iraqi sympathizer character on the heels of the Gulf War. He received all sorts of threats and there were real concerns for his safety and WWE was often threatened by Americans who had trouble telling the difference between a character and real-life. There's no way WWE would go there again, especially in this day and age, but Slaughter and Evans as heels might make for an interesting pairing.

For now, there's been no indication that this is the direction that WWE wants to go, other than to note that she's taking his finishing move and using it herself.

When Will Evans Debut?

WWE held off on airing a vignette last week during the final SmackDown of 2022, but they were back at it this past Friday. It's not clear when her in-ring debut will take place, but it seems evident the company wants to build her up as one of the division's top heels.
