Sepp Blatter Resigning as FIFA President

It's a beautiful day for the beautiful game. Sepp Blatter, after four terms as President of FIFA has announced he is stepping down from his post, four days after being re-elected for a fifth term.

At a news conference today, Blatter made the following statement:

"This mandate does not seem to be supported by everybody in the world of football," Blatter said. "FIFA needs a profound restructuring."

"I will continue to exercise my function (until the new election)," Blatter said.

The new elections will take place in between December this year and March of 2016. There's no word yet on if the candidates from the latest election will be considered. There's also no word yet on how this will effect the 2022 World Cup currently scheduled for Qatar.

For all fans of the sport (and people who generally like organizations without corruption) it's a great day for all.
