The Simpsons Saw The FIFA Scandal Coming

The Simpsons may not be what it used to be, but every once in a while, the show is still capable of pulling off a stroke of genius. In the video above, we see a character clearly parodying a FIFA official.

Back in the episode "You Don't Have to Live Like a Referee" in March of 2014, it appears The Simpsons saw a FIFA arrest coming. The episode also predicted a Germany victory over Brazil in the World Cup.

In this clip, the official pleads with Homer to be the new president of the "World Futbol Federation" because they need a symbol of integrity to run the federation. That's exactly what FIFA has needed for so long. As the official is attempting to persuade Homer, he is arrested on the charge of corruption.

If there were a real life Homer Simpson, he'd still be a better option than Sepp Blatter.
