It's still not entirely clear whether or not Sonya Deville is planning on getting back into the ring on a regular basis, working part-time as a wrestler and a WWE official or any upcoming match with Naomi is a one-off. With that in mind, comments that she's got her sights set on a singles match at WrestleMania suggests she's not nearly done with being an active in-ring competitor.

During an interview with talkSPORT Deville mentioned she would like to wrestle a singles match before retiring. She wants that match to happen at a WrestleMania, which likely means a significant buildup and a program heading into WWE's biggest pay-per-view of the year. "I’ve yet to have my singles match at WrestleMania and that’s obviously a goal of mine in the near future," Deville said. As for who her opponent would be, "There’s so many scenarios that I would love."

At the top of her list is Becky Lynch. Deville explained, "I’ve always said that I would love to face Becky Lynch because I just think the dichotomy of her character and my character would be so cool." Hinting that the two might play off the similar storyline of Stone Cold Steve Austin versus the authority of the Mr. McMahon character, Deville continued, "There would be a lot of large energy in the room and I think that would be a really cool matchup."

As for other names she would love to wrestle with, Deville said she has great matches with Asuka and also believes a story with Sasha Banks would write itself.

This Year's WrestleMania?

If the idea is to play off the heat being built by the Deville character, this year's WrestleMania might be one of the better times to get her in the ring as a heel character versus a babyface like Banks. It's not imagined that Deville's storyline with Naomi will run all the way to WrestleMania, but don't rule that out since WWE is really taking its time with that angle.
