In an unexpected development, Cody Rhodes is suddenly one of the top free agents available

Earlier this week, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan announced that Cody and Brandi Rhodes were leaving AEW. Aside from his work as a wrestler, Cody also served as an executive vice president to AEW, and Brandy was employed as the company's Chief Brand Officer.

AEW wrestler Sting took to Twitter and posted a kind message for Cody, who was involved in the former's AEW debut segment.

Sting debuted for AEW at the Winter Is Coming special on Dec. 2, 2020. One week later, Sting met with Cody in the ring and announced that he was officially #AllElite. The soon-to-be 63-year-old continues to wrestle the occasional match for AEW while serving as Darby Allin's mentor.

The American Nightmare worked without an actual contract during his final weeks with AEW. It has been reported that Cody wasn't pleased when he lost his responsibility as a booker for AEW. A separate report stated that Cody had been clashing with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks, who are also employed as AEW executive vice presidents.

Regarding Cody's potential arrival in WWE? Apparently, he could start doing work for the company as soon as this weekend. It has also been reported that Vince McMahon will give Cody a big push if he returns.

Cody, a second-generation wrestler, began his career with WWE in 2006. He worked for the company until May 2016, before requesting and receiving his release. In WWE, Cody won two Intercontinental Championships and six total Tag Team titles .

Cody Would Be A Special Add For WWE

He was greatly underused in his final years with the WWE, but Cody promises to enjoy much better usage if he opts to return to Vince McMahon's promotion. He has established himself as one of the world's greatest wrestlers since his WWE release in 2016, and Cody would be a marquee addition to WWE considering their long-term struggles in developing main event stars.
