Edge and AJ Style promised a match between two of the best to ever lace their boots and set foot inside a wrestling ring, but the thing that people will remember is Edge getting help from a surprise face.

After a hard-fought slug-fest between the two wrestling legends saw AJ Styles preparing to hit the Phenomenal Forearm after Edge had kicked out of the Styles Clash but The Phenomenal One was distracted by a surprise appearance from United States Champion Damien Priest.

The distraction allowed Edge long enough to recover so that he could hit Styles with Spear in mid-air as he attempted to hit his own finishing move. This was enough to allow The Rated-R Superstar to pick up the pin and defeat AJ Styles at 'Mania.

But, after the match Damien Priest would make his way into the ring, coming face-to-face with the new darker Edge since the star's heel turn in February. But instead of coming to blows, Priest revealed he'd aligned himself with Edge and caused the distraction in purpose. The two shared a maniacal laugh before celebrating in the ring.

Is Edge Forming A New Stable?

Prior to the match, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful had reported that WWE creative were planning something interesting for Edge going forward, by having the multi-time world champion leading his own stable.

His change of character certainly seemed to point towards that, and at WrestleMania it appears we've seen the start of the formation of that stable.

Edges entrance and ring gear, as well as Priest's general demeanor, is leading people to label the new partnership as a 'New New Brood' but at the moment it's just the two of them.

It seems likely that at least one more wrestler will be added to this group to make it a stable and not a tag-team but it's not yet known who that might be. If I was a betting man I'd be tempted to put some money on Finn Balor though, as I think he'd fit right in with Edge and Priest.
