When The Fabulous Freebirds first formed, the trio carved a path throughout Mid-South and World Class to make themselves one of the most famous factions of all time. Any two members of the team are allowed to defend the tag team titles, making it almost impossible for opponents to prepare for the litany of combinations a trio or a stable could use to defend tag team gold.

10 The Beautiful People

For all the flack TNA gets about well, everything, they had a burgeoning women’s division while the WWE ladies were lucky to get two minute matches. The Knockouts Division was ruled by the trio known as The Beautiful People - Madison Rayne, Velvet Sky, and Lacey Von Erich. While Rayne and Sky won the belts against Sarita and Taylor Wilde, it would ultimately be the inexperienced Lacey and Wilde that would lose the titles to the powerhouse team of Awesome Kong and Hamada.

9 The Spirit Squad

Never before have a group of male cheerleaders been more annoying than The Spirit Squad. Thankfully, the group gave us Dolph Ziggler and were so irritating that DX reformed just to shut them up.

With five guys in the group, the were able to pass the tag team titles among themselves for over 200 days until they got surprised by a fan vote of legends Roddy Piper and Ric Flair, who defeated them for the tag team titles at Taboo Tuesday 2006.

8 The Jersey Triad

In the latter days of WCW, Bam Bam Bigelow, Kanyon, and Diamond Dallas Page embraced their Jersey roots and formed The Jersey Triad. The former WCW World Champion, ECW champion, and Innovator Of Offense were a formidable trio.

Twice over the group were able to win the WCW tag team titles when Page and Kanyon defeated the Revolution. After holding the titles for several months, Bam Bam and Kanyon fell to the greatest WCW tag team of all time, The Harlem Heat at the 1999 Road Wild PPV.

7 The Right To Censor

The Right To Censor was actually a pretty clever stable. The WWE took the complaints that organizations like the Parent’s Television Council and turned them on their ear, using the very characters that the PTC rallied against.

Val Venis and The Goodfather saw the light and were joined by Ivory and Bull Buchanan being led by Stevie Richards. While it was The Goodfather and Bull who won and lost the titles, during their title reign, Val Venis would jump in and substitute for one of his colleagues.

6 Camp Cornette

All of the titles were on the line when Diesel and Shawn Michaels put up their WWE and Intercontinental titles against Owen Hart and Yokozuna and their tag team titles at In Your House 3. But before the match, The British Bulldog had substituted for Owen.

During the match Owen had arrived and was actually the man pinned. Thankfully for Camp Cornette, this created a loophole that allowed Cornette to argue for his team to actually retain the titles since Owen wasn’t part of the match.

5 The Wyatt Family

We live in a world where Randy Orton is the only member of The Wyatt Family that is still with the WWE. In 2016, Luke Harper wasn’t quite buying that he was actually willing to follow Bray Wyatt’s gospel. At the TLC event, it was Orton and Wyatt that would capture the Smackdown tag titles. Smackdown GM Daniel Bryan declared that any member of The Wyatts could defend the titles. Orton and Harper would head into a Fatal 4-Way battle where they would lose the titles to American Alpha.

4 The Wolfpac

Depending on whose story you believe, Syxx was officially made member of The Wolfpac to specifically fill in for either Kevin Nash or Scott Hall and whichever Outsider didn’t feel like heading to the ring on any particular night. In reality, it was when Nash went down with an injury that “Wolfpac Rules” matches started to happen with Syxx and Hall being the tag team to beat, which put them right up against the Steiner Brothers, who were finally able to defeat them for the belts.

The original rabble rousers from a little town called Badstreet were some of the hottest heatseekers in history. Michael Hayes, Buddy Jack Roberts, and Terry Gordy were able to reignite WCCW thanks to their feud with the Von Erich boys. The Freebird Rule was in full effect whenever they hit the ring. Especially when the Birds got to Crockett and starting collecting titles like the US Tag Titles and the Six Man Titles.

2 The Undisputed Era

It is an incontrovertible fact that Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly made a big impact as the premier tag team in NXT. The team cut a path through the tag team division becoming tag team champions in the process.

But when Fish tore his ACL, Adam Cole stepped in to help defend the tag titles. Later Roderick Strong joined the group and he also filled in whenever injuries knocked one of his stablemates out.

Through nothing but sheer will and an undying friendship and loyalty towards one another that has made The New Day has become the single best stable in company history. They’ve garnered enough respect from the fans that they’re all en route to becoming almost as big singles stars as they were a tag team. Each possible combination of the trio have won numerous tag team titles and now have all achieved singles glory as well.
