Early Life

Joshua (Jey) and Jonathan (Jimmy) Fatu were born on August 22, 1985, in San Francisco, California. They are the sons of Solofa Fatu Jr., better known by his ring name Rikishi. The twins are part of the Anoa’i dynasty, being the first cousins once removed of Afa Anoa’i Jr. and Roman Reigns.

During their high school years, the twins played football. They continued to play in college at the University of West Alabama, where they both played linebacker. They then tried their hand at the family business and began training to be professional wrestlers in 2008.

WWE Debut

The Uso Brothers got their start in WWE through Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) in 2009. On March 13, 2010, The Usos defeated The Fortunate Sons to become FCW Florida Tag Team Champions, marking their first of numerous title wins.

The Usos made their main roster debut on May 24, 2010, during an episode of Raw as heels alongside Tamina. They had their first match for the main roster on the June 17, 2010 episode of Superstars by defeating Goldust and Mark Henry.

By 2013, The Usos had started to settle into their identity as a tag team. They wore colorful attire and donned face paint similar to their late uncle, Umaga. On the March 3, 2014, episode of Raw, The Usos defeated The New Age Outlaws to become the WWE Tag Team Champions for the first time in their career.

Day One Ish

By 2017, The Usos established themselves as one of the greatest tag teams to ever grace the WWE. However, feeling like they weren’t being taken seriously enough, Jimmy and Jey decided to change their look.

The Usos left behind the colorful gear and face paint, electing instead to wear black and white street clothes and snapbacks. With this change in style came a new mean streak that put the rest of the WWE tag team division on notice.

The Bloodline

At WrestleMania 36, Jimmy sustained a severe knee injury that left him sidelined for the next several months. Jey continued to compete in the singles division, and soon butted heads with his cousin, Roman Reigns. After weeks of manipulation and several beatdowns, The Tribal Chief convinced Jey to join his side. Jimmy wasn’t too happy to see the state Roman brought his brother to, but eventually gave in as well. The three of them, along with Paul Heyman, became known as The Bloodline.

Soon after reuniting, The Usos defeated The Mysterios for the Smackdown Tag Team Championships. Then, On May 20, 2022, The Usos captured the Raw Tag Team Championships and became the inaugural Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions.

Falling Out

The Usos lost their titles to Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 39, bringing their record-breaking reign with the Smackdown Tag Team Championships to an end at 622 days (their Raw reign ended at 316 days). Things quickly began to unravel within The Bloodline.

After an emotional falling out in August 2023, Jimmy and Jey went their separate ways. Jey was brought to Monday Night Raw by Cody Rhodes, while Jimmy remained on Smackdown with his younger brother Solo and Roman Reigns. Jey even managed to become Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion alongside Cody, marking the first time either brother won a tag title with a partner besides each other.
