Early Life

Thea Megan Trinidad was born on December 27, 1990, in Queens, New York. She is of Puerto Rican descent and holds immense pride in her heritage. Thea has been a fan of professional wrestling her whole life and recalls watching it during her childhood alongside her father and younger brother. She cites Rey Mysterio and Lita as two of her favorite stars.

When Thea was 10 years old, she lost her father to the September 11 attack on the World Trade Center. Her father inspired her to work toward her lifelong dream and begin training to be a professional wrestler.

Independent Wrestling Career

In 2010, Thea began training under Javi-Air, Azireal, and Amazing Red. She made her professional wrestling debut on February 20, 2010, under the ring name Divina Fly. She competed across the East Coast in various independent promotions, including WSU and NWS, as well as for AAA in Mexico.

On January 27, 2011, news broke that Thea had signed a contract with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. She made her debut for the company on the February 10 episode of Impact! under a new ring name, Rosita. She formed a tag team with Sarita, who was her cousin in TNA canon. At Victory Road on March 13, 2011, Rosita and Sarita defeated Angelina Love and Winter to become TNA Knockouts Tag Team Champions.

Thea remained with TNA until January 9, 2013, when her contract expired and she decided to depart from the company. She then returned to the independent circuit and competed in promotions like Ring of Honor, Shine Wrestling, and Stardom.

WWE Debut

In June 2017, Thea signed a contract with WWE. She made her NXT debut soon after under the ring name Zelina Vega. On July 19, 2017, Zelina became a heel manager for Andrade “Cien” Almas. They immediately became a popular and powerful duo; at NXT TakeOver: WarGames on November 18, 2017, Zelina helped Andrade defeat Drew McIntyre to become NXT Champion.

Zelina made her main roster debut by accompanying Andrade to the ring during the 2018 Royal Rumble. A few months later, the two of them were drafted to Raw. Zelina remained by Andrade’s side through his first reign as WWE United States Champion. They parted ways in 2020, enabling Zelina to focus on her career as a singles competitor.

In October 2021, Zelina competed in the inaugural Queen’s Crown tournament. She defeated Doudrop to win the tournament at Crown Jewel and was named the “Queen” of the Ring. This marked Zelina’s first accolade in WWE.

On November 22, 2021, Zelina teamed up with Carmella to become the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. They held the titles until the second night of WrestleMania 38 and parted ways soon after.

The Latino World Order

On October 7, 2022, Zelina joined Legado Del Fantasma in their feud against Hit Row. The faction then came to the aid of Rey Mysterio in his fight against the Judgment Day, consequently turning face for the first time in her WWE career.

On March 31, 2023, Rey Mysterio reformed his old WCW faction the Latino World Order, and invited Legado Del Fantasma to join this new iteration of the group. Zelina has been representing Latinas across the globe with pride ever since.
