Recently-released former WWE Superstar Tegan Nox (who now goes by her pre-WWE ring name, Nixon Newell) has spoken positively of her time with the company and praised its mental health support system.

"What I've found that the Performance Center is really good for is, they are very into people's mental health," Newell said during a chat with Taylor Wilde on his Wilde On Podcast.

As you might recall, Newell's WWE tenure was plagued by injury woes, which she says took a toll on her mental wellness. She signed with the company in 2017 and was scheduled to compete in the inaugural Mae Young Classic, but was forced to withdraw after tearing her ACL before the tournament began. The Welsh wrestler competed in the second Mae Young Classic in 2018 but was suffered numerous injuries in her quarter-final match with Rhea Ripley. As well as tearing her ACL again, Nox suffered a torn lateral collateral ligament and a patellar dislocation. She eventually recovered and went on to feature in some high-profile NXT bouts. Nox teamed with Shotzi Blackheart in a WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match against Sasha Banks and Bayley in June of 2020 before tragically tearing her ACL yet again that August.

"At one point, during the second knee surgery, I was in a really bad place and I told one of the coaches," Newell recalled on Wilde Out. "Within hours, I was in a therapy session with one of their people. It was also so quick. They just want to help make your mind right," she continued. If your mind is not right, nothing else is going to be right."

Despite being released by the company earlier this month, Newell had nothing but nice things to say about the quality of care she received during her time there and it's clear that she holds the Performance Center in high regard.

"It's good to have a place where you can do that sort of stuff. 'Oh, I'm having a bad day.' They give me this therapy, so I'm going to take full advantage of it. It helped a lot. It helped so much," she said. "The medical facility is great, all my doctors are fantastic, but having that mental health is next level. You never experience that one the Indies or anywhere else. It was really cool to see how quickly they moved on it."

Nox was called up to SmackDown back in July but was sadly released along with several of her now former WWE colleagues last week.
