The Usos defeated The Street Profits at Saturday's WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view to retain the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships, and as a bonus, the victory led them to the history books.

As noted by Twitter account @WWEStats, The Usos became the first tag team to defend a set of Tag Team Championships at consecutive SummerSlam shows (excluding kickoff matches). Jimmy and Jey defeated Rey and Dominik Mysterio at WWE SummerSlam 2021 a year ago to retain their SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

At the 2020 event, The Street Profits defeated Angel Garza and Andrade to retain the Raw Tag Team Championships. A year earlier, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross defeated The IIconics to retain the Women's Tag Team Championships. The Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships weren't defended on the card that year.

Two weeks ago, The Usos reached the one-year mark as the holders of the SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Their reign started at Money in the Bank 2021, when The Usos defeated The Mysterios to win the titles. Jimmy and Jey defeated Randy Orton and Riddle on the May 20 episode of SmackDown in a title unification match to also claim the Raw Tag Team Championships.

The Usos retain their titles

The program between The Usos and The Street Profits is seemingly over now. Jimmy and Jey faced Rey and Dominik in a winning effort on the post-SummerSlam edition of Raw, so it looks like The Mysterios will be the next ones to challenge for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships.

The Bloodline Dominated SummerSlam Weekend

On top of that, Roman Reigns — the leader of The Bloodline — recently reached two incredible milestones as a major champion. He surpassed the 700-day mark as the Universal Champion, and Reigns has also been a World Champion in WWE for over 1,000 combined days now. Reigns outlasted Brock Lesnar in a Last Man Standing bout to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship.

Up next, Reigns will defend the title against Drew McIntyre at the Sept. 3 Clash at the Castle pay-per-view, which will run on Sept. 3 inside Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales.
