We're just a few months removed from Vince McMahon's hostile takeover of WWE. Just a few short months after ending his long tenure as the leader of the company, he returned just as fast. Granted, if you listen to Triple H and other top-level executives, McMahon hasn't changed much.

That's for the best as well. While Triple H's booking decisions have proved to be controversial, such as Cody Rhodes losing to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, Vince McMahon has had many such calls himself. That being said, the boss has also been willing to send the fans home happy if he feels like it.

To be fair to Vince McMahon, WrestleMania 32 was a mess for reasons outside of his control. The card was absolutely wrecked by injuries, as The Rock, John Cena, Seth Rollins, and more, all had scrapped matches. Well, technically. Rock still crushed Eric Rowan in seconds at the events.

However, injuries are no excuse to have a hated Roman Reigns vs. an aging Triple H in the main event. This decision was made worse in the build to the event, as they teased that they would swap out the legend for Dean Ambrose. They didn't, and instead, fans got one of the worst main events in WrestleMania history.

9 People: Zack Ryder Wins Ladder Match (WrestleMania 32)

Zack Ryder Intercontinental Champion Cropped

While WrestleMania 32 wound up being one of the worst WrestleManias ever, it didn't look like it was going to go that way. In fact, one of the earliest matches on the show was an incredible Intercontinental Championship ladder match.

Despite names such as Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Cody Rhodes, and more, being in the match, fans got the upset of a lifetime, as Zack Ryder, who was barely seen on TV at this time, shockingly won the title. It was an emotional moment, as he celebrated with his father in the ring.

Admittedly, Zack Ryder's entire saga over the course of April 2016 is the most Vince McMahon-thing ever. Suddenly, out of nowhere after years of fans wanting to see him do anything other than lose offscreen, he was inserted into the WrestleMania 32 ladder match.

Ryder shockingly won the title, but the celebration was short-lived. His title reign lasted just one day, as he was squashed by The Miz the following day on Monday Night Raw. To be fair, this didn't turn out too bad. In the end, Miz had a great run with the title.

7 People: Kurt Angle in The Shield (TLC 2017)

The Olympic Shield

One has to give Vince McMahon credit when it is deserved. Just days out from TLC 2017, the main event between The Shield, and Braun Strowman, Kane, The Miz, Cesaro, and Sheamus was canceled. Roman Reigns was ill, so McMahon called an audible.

Kurt Angle was on the roster but in a non-wrestling capacity. Somehow, McMahon convinced him to step into the main event on short notice as a member of The Shield. The match was Angle's first in 11 years and led to his final act with the WWE.

6 Himself: John Cena vs. The Rock 2 (WrestleMania 29)

It's incredible what an unnecessary sequel can do to a series. WrestleMania 28 was headlined by the first clash between John Cena and The Rock. The event was hailed as 'Once in a Lifetime', and did incredible numbers.

Those numbers convinced Vince McMahon to do the same exact match, a year later. The only difference is that fans didn't care as much, they completely ruined CM Punk's title reign, and The Rock suffered so many injuries that he hasn't competed in a proper match since. Nice call, Vince.

5 People: Steve Austin vs. Kevin Owens (WrestleMania 38)

WrestleMania 38 was almost like a series ending when you really think about it. It was the last match of Vince McMahon's career, the retirement of Triple H, and more. However, it was also the return of Steve Austin in the main event of night one.

Somehow, McMahon convinced Austin to an official retirement match, as he put on a show against Kevin Owens. The best part about this is that most fans were expecting a segment, not a match. Yet, they got to see the legend have one more match in his home state.

4 Himself: Sting vs. Triple H (WrestleMania 31)

Sting vs Triple H

With time, Sting's WWE run only looks worse and worse, through no fault of his own. For years, fans clamored to see The Stinger in the WWE ring, and they got it in 2015. He instantly inserted himself into a rivalry with The Authority, and Triple H.

That's in spite of the fact, that just about every fan on the planet wanted to see Sting face The Undertaker. To make matters even worse, Triple H wound up beating the legend in his one WrestleMania appearance.

3 People: Kofi Kingston vs. Daniel Bryan (WrestleMania 35)

Daniel Bryan vs. Kofi Kingston (WWE WrestleMania 35, 4/7/2019)

For years, it seemed that Kofi Kingston had lost his shot at the main event scene. When he first debuted in the company, he seemed like a future champion. However, after a few high-profile losses, and a tag team with Big E and Xavier Woods later, it seemed his time had passed.

Suddenly in 2019, fans got behind Kingston and helped push him to the world title scene. At WrestleMania, Vince McMahon gave fans the story they wanted, and have Daniel Bryan take the pin, and give the fan-favorite the biggest win of his career.

2 Himself: Brock Lesnar vs. Kofi Kingston (Smackdown 2019)

Brock Vs Kofi

While KofiMania was incredible, it's almost hard to feel good about it considering the way it ended. Months after he won the title, Kingston entered a "feud" with Brock Lesnar. Most fans expected him to lose the championship but didn't see it coming in the fashion that he did.

Kingston lost to Brock Lesnar in seconds, on the first episode of SmackDown on Fox. To make things even worse, he never got a rematch and was shoved aside in favor of a terrible match against Cain Velasquez.

1 People: Daniel Bryan (WrestleMania 30)

Let's be honest, there's no other time when Vince McMahon was better to fans than Daniel Bryan's run to the top. Leading into WrestleMania 30, the product was about as stale, and bland of a show as it had ever been. Thus, fans got behind Bryan.

Shockingly, they helped push him to the main event scene, and into a match with Triple H at the event. There, he defeated the legend, pushing him to the main event where he defeated Batista and Randy Orton. Nearly a decade later, the moment is still one of the most incredible in WWE history.
