With 13 matches and somewhere in the region of a five-hour runtime, Double or Nothing was a long old show. Odds are many of you would have checked how many matches were left at around the four-hour mark only to discover there were still three more to go. Tony Khan obviously knew the show was going to be pretty long, and even though she didn't talk for long, that's partly down to Martha Hart.

An Extra Hour Of PPV

As revealed by Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Khan bought an extra hour of PPV time to make sure Martha would have enough time to say everything she wanted. Martha wasn't told what to say, nor was she given an allotted time and cues she needed to hit. Just a live mic to talk about Owen and give the trophy and titles to tournament winners Britt Baker and Adam Cole.

Martha's speech was heartfelt, but the segment wasn't overly long. Knowing she wouldn't talk for a full hour, but having bought the additional PPV time, Khan added a couple of matches to the show. That might explain why there were 13 matches from start to finish when including the Buy-In match, and also explains why some of those matches didn't get much build.

Extra Matches Added

Darby Allin versus Kyle O'Reilly, for example. That match felt very much like one that could have happened on an episode of Dynamite, if at all to be honest. The match wasn't added to the card until the Rampage before Double or Nothing, meaning some fans might not have even realized it was on the card when watching live on Sunday night.

Apparently Khan added two matches to the card after picking up an extra hour for the show. While O'Reilly versus Allin was almost definitely one of them, there are a few candidates as to what the other one might have been. The Hardys versus The Young Bucks may be the culprit as even though it was a dream match for many, it didn't get a lot of build. American Top Team's match could have also been the added match, or Death Triangle's clash with House of Black.
