During AEW's post-show media scrum, Tony Khan absolutely flipped out and went on a foul-mouthed tirade when the question about Eric Bischoff and CM Punk being a financial flop was brought up. One reporter wanted to know how Punk wanted to respond and Khan cut him off and answered the question almost immediately.

When the reporter quoted Bischoff who called Punk the biggest financial flop in the history of wrestling, Khan cut him off and said, "fu--ing bullsh--." He then went on to say that Punk has actually been the biggest needle mover in AEW's history. Khan said there is plenty of financial proof out there in the public record that prove Bischoff's comments are not accurate. Khan then cited all the shows Punk has been on and the numbers they've drawn. He said that the new champion has been on four-straight pay-per-views and every one of them drew a record number.

"No one wrestler has come in and made a bigger plus-delta difference on my company." He added, whether it was All Out where he was a huge part of the draw with Darby, the biggest draw in the history of Rampage, the match with MJF and that Punk is the reason AEW won the Friday Night War. Khan filled his response with expletives which made him come across as both passionate and on tilt. He yelled, "This f--ing guy, he fu--ing did the Friday night war, he did the First Dance, he's done the record Double or Nothing, he did the record All Out in his debut, he was a big part of the record Full Gear, great match with Eddie Kingston and fu--in', he's wrestled a bunch of young guys and veterans in between there, Will Hobbs and Daniel Garcia goddamn it.." He finished with " he's the biggest part of the financial success of this company, Let's fu---ing go!"

Khan Apologized, But Kind Of Didn't

Saying he was sorry for getting so passionate about the subject, Khan later said in the media scrum, "Nodody has done more for this company in the last year than CM Punk has." He also said that he wanted Punk from Day 1 and that when he finally got Punk, the President knew it was going to be a huge difference-maker.
