MJF just cut an incredible promo on Wednesday's episode of AEW Dynamite when he stood across the ring from one of the other best performers to ever hold a mic. In about 18 minutes, MJF reminded everyone about how good he is. Knowing his own value, AEW's arguably biggest heel has already said he'll be open to any wrestling company that wants to bid for his services when his current AEW contract is up.

While some believe comments like this are just MJF staying in character, others believe he might be telling the truth. They believe he has every intention of seeing what WWE or another wrestling company might have to offer and he intends to cash in when a potential bidding war starts. While this is a ways away from being anything close to reality, it's already a topic that gets frequently discussed amid the competition that is brewing between AEW and WWE. AEW President Tony Khan even commented on the speculation.

While a guest on Busted Open Radio, Khan said, “I signed him (MJF) to a five-year contract two years ago, he has three years left. I'm totally fine. There may be a bidding war in 2024, I'm fine with that."

Khan's confidence probably comes from a few different places. First, he's not shy for money. If it's money MJF wants, AEW and Khan have it. Second, there's no telling where WWE will be and where AEW will be and by the time the year 2024 rolls around, it's hard to know where these two companies will rank in terms of the top of the mountain. It may be the case that WWE is not an attractive option for MJF and that no amount of money is worth him making the jump.

Khan Probably Has A Plan

The fact that Khan seems so cavalier about this suggests he either already feels confident about the future and where MJF falls in AEW or he simply doesn't care and will get the best out of MJF now. Either make sense and it explains why AEW moved so quickly to get CM Punk and MJF in the ring together. It's a feud everyone wanted to see and it's best to get it done while there are no questions about contracts to get in the way.
