Triple H’s love life followed him in WWE storylines with two legendary performers working with him. Chyna joining WWE to become Triple H’s enforcer saw their careers taking off around the same time. 10 Chyna: Saved His Career
The Hunter Hearst Helmsley character was not getting over the way WWE wanted when Triple H first joined the company. Fans had seen the rich heel gimmick for so long that it was just another wrestler playing it rather than a new star getting over.
Chyna appearing out of nowhere to attack Terri Runnels added new excitement to the Triple H vs Goldust feud. WWE never had a character like Chyna before and fans had more interest in Triple H’s matches due to her bodyguard role.
9 Stephanie: Adding To Rivalries With Kurt Angle & Chris Jericho
Chris Jericho and Kurt Angle stand out as two of the better rivalries of Triple H’s career. The promo battles and matches always delivered when Triple H worked with these two fellow future legends in the Attitude Era.
Stephanie McMahon was just as valuable as the wrestlers to these respective feuds. The love triangle between Triple H, Angle, and Stephanie was arguably WWE’s best romantic storyline. Jericho’s promo battles with Stephanie often did more for his feud with Triple H than anything Triple H said.
8 Chyna: Physical Interference
The biggest difference between Chyna and Stephanie McMahon as managers was the physical nature of Chyna. Unlike Stephanie, Chyna was actually a wrestler and could easily get involved in Triple H’s matches by attacking his opponent.
The moments of Chyna getting physical would always elicit a reaction from the crowd since a woman getting the better of a man was not the norm in wrestling. Triple H having the addition of Chyna instantly added to the story of his matches.
7 Stephanie: The Authority
The long relationship between Triple H and Stephanie McMahon allowed them to work together in more stints. Triple H and Stephanie thrived together in the early 2000s, but they brought the heel power couple back in 2013 as The Authority.
Daniel Bryan, CM Punk, the Rhodes Family, and many others feuded with The Authority for memorable moments. Stephanie managing Triple H added to the overall matches when he faced Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and a few others.
6 Chyna: Didn't Hinder His Promos
The strength of Stephanie McMahon was her promos, so Triple H had to split his microphone time with her in the 2000s. Chyna had the opposite character as she spoke very few words and let her physical action do the talking.
Triple H usually had all the promo time when Chyna was his manager and it helped him get over as a character. The promos of Triple H drastically improved during his time with Chyna since fans cared more and he was put in a position to grow.
5 Stephanie: Winning Gold Together
Stephanie McMahon becoming the on-screen partner of Triple H would see them both winning gold together. Even though Stephanie wasn’t a respected wrestler, she won the WWE Women’s Championship due to her character being the most over.
Triple H and Stephanie making their way to the ring each holding their championships added to the overall act. Stephanie essentially used the belt to add to Triple H’s act, showing it off during his matches before she eventually dropped it to Lita.
4 Chyna: Turning Heel Together
One of the bolder moves WWE pulled with Triple H featured him and Chyna both betraying D-Generation X in 1999. Chyna seemingly turned on Triple H when she aligned with The Corporation heading to WrestleMania 15. Chyna then seemingly rejoined DX at 'Mania by betraying Kane and aligning with The Game, briefly turning face in the process.
Both Triple H and Chyna helping Shane McMahon defeat X-Pac led to it being a swerve of them being aligned altogether. As members of The Corporation, The Game and The Ninth Wonder of the World were villains. The career of Triple H continued to take off with his first WWE Championship coming that year with Chyna at his side.
3 Stephanie: McMahon-Helmsley Faction
WWE formed a powerful heel group for Triple H and Stephanie McMahon when they first got over as heels. The McMahon-Helmsley faction featured Triple H bringing his old D-Generation X friends to help him and Stephanie abuse their power running the show.
Faces like The Rock and Mick Foley benefited from feuding with Triple H and Stephanie. WWE feared that they'd have a down year in 2000 with Steve Austin’s injury causing him to sit out at his hottest. The top faces feuding with the McMahon-Helmsley Regime carried the main event scene without Austin.
2 Chyna: D-Generation X Run
The magical run of D-Generation X changed the careers of just about every wrestler to join the group. Triple H and Chyna initially aligned with the newly-minted heel Shawn Michaels to start the faction that loved pushing the envelope.
WWE embraced the Attitude Era with DX leading the way right after Steve Austin. Triple H and Chyna became the most important members when Michaels retired. The face version of DX saw Triple H proving he could lead, and Chyna was right there as his manager and the second most important member of the group.
1 Stephanie: Was Missing Piece To Became True Top Star
Triple H winning the WWE Championship didn’t cement him into that top tier with Steve Austin and The Rock. WWE eventually split him from Chyna when wanting to elevate her into a singles role in intergender matches against male wrestlers.
Stephanie McMahon turning heel to become the new love interest and manager of Triple H was the missing piece. The duo had instant chemistry and it allowed Triple H to be the top heel on the show. Stephanie’s power and evil character traits put Triple H over the top in 2000 with his feuds against Mick Foley, The Rock, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, and Steve Austin all connecting.
