Triple H is in the UK along with the bulk of the WWE roster for Clash at the Castle this weekend. In an attempt to add even more hype to an already very hyped premium live event, the new head of creative has been doing the media rounds. That included an appearance on This Morning, and also an extensive sit-down interview with Ariel Helwani for BT Sport.

Was Triple H Punished For AEW Beating NXT?

Helwani asked some pretty probing questions, and The Game wasn't shy about answering them. You can check out the full interview here. Triple H gave an in-depth explanation describing the thought process behind his decisions and why they are different from his predecessor, Vince McMahon. The topic of AEW beating NXT in the Wednesday Night War was also broached, to which Triple H had something very interesting to say.

It has been believed for a while that The Game was punished by WWE for NXT's loss to Dynamite on Wednesday nights. A loss that eventually resulted in WWE's show moving to Tuesday nights. Helwani asked Triple H if there was any truth to the belief that he was punished for that. “People put so much pressure on all this competitive war, but it never was that,” WWE's creative head explained, refuting the rumors.

"Good For Them"

Triple H then takes a parting shot at the end of the clip above. “They beat our developmental system. Good for them,” chuckling right after he says it. No doubt there will be some sort of response from Tony Khan, probably by the time this article is published. Especially after the AEW boss admitted a working relationship with WWE now appears to be off the cards.

Khan said as much during a recent media call, claiming he hoped the two companies could work together under WWE's new regime but doubted that could happen after how he had recently been treated. No comment on what Khan meant by that, but it was likely a reference to the allegations WWE has been speaking with wrestlers who are currently contracted to AEW.
