It has been a while since Triple H was last seen on WWE TV in any capacity. That's mainly due to the fact The Game suffered a cardiac event back in September. WWE revealed the news after it happened, confirming that the WWE COO needed surgery and had been hospitalized. Triple H is currently recovering but hasn't really returned to work as of yet.

The Event Was Very, Very Serious

The nature of the event has been kept underwraps thus far. However, according to Dave Meltzer, it was “very, very, very serious”. The long-time pro wrestling journalist revealed as much during Sunday Night's Main Event podcast, claiming that an unnamed source, presumably within WWE, revealed as much. Cardiac event is obviously quite a big umbrella which could mean anything from The Game suffering a heart attack to needing to undergo bypass surgery.

As for how he's doing, despite not fully returning to work, Triple H appears to be doing okay. A clip of the 14-time World Champion touring WWE's potential new HQ surfaced a short while ago. Triple H's wife Stephanie McMahon also revealed he is doing well when asked about her husband during Survivor Series weekend.

Triple H's Eventual Return

Triple H's job covers a lot of bases in WWE, the largest being his work in NXT. Shawn Michaels appears to be picking up the majortiy of the slack while his friend is recovering, and has overseen the show's switch from NXT to NXT 2.0. It will be interesting to find out how much of the revamp Triple H had a hand in, and if any of the changes will be tweaked or rolled back once The Game returns.

As for his in-ring career, while not confirmed, there are murmurs Triple H could never wrestle again. The Game actually wrestled as recently as this year, unexpectedly stepping up for a Street Fight versus Randy Orton back in January. Prior to that Triple H hadn't wrestled since a WWE tour of Japan back in 2019. If he can wrestle again, then it might well be one last match so he can retire on his own terms.
