Trish Stratus is still considered the most successful female wrestler in WWE history to many fans since the other newer names are still writing their legacies. WWE pushed Stratus as the face of the women’s division during its biggest push in the 2000s. Trish initially joined WWE with minimal experience due to her look and background in fitness modeling.
A desire to get better and become a capable in-ring worker saw Stratus leading the women’s division to get more opportunities. Trish thrived in both the face and heel roles, but many would argue she was best on the dark side. The following actions were the worst things by Stratus during her time as a wrestling character.
10 Test & Albert Helping Her Attack Lita
The first months of Trish Stratus’ WWE career saw her managing the tag team of Test and Albert. WWE wanted to slowly introduce Stratus to the wrestling world as a manager before she started to have matches against other women.
A unique form of storytelling to get around that saw Trish orchestrating Test and Albert to set the odds in her favor. Matt and Jeff Hardy getting injured for a few weeks by Test and Albert led to Stratus having them trap Lita for her to get the easy attack with a numbers advantage.
9 Impersonating Mickie James
This one may be a reach, but Trish Stratus tapped into her old heel style when playing a face in her feud against Mickie James. WWE booked James to slowly turn heel by becoming a bit too obsessed with Trish after Stratus was kind to her as allies.
Mickie eventually turning on Trish and beating her for the Women’s Championship inspired Stratus’ new side. WWE had Trish start dressing and acting like James in an insulting manner. The cruel side of Stratus was kind of forced by Mickie, but it was still a bit more heelish than her usual face act.
8 Flirtatious Segments With Triple H
The first instance of Trish Stratus developing heat with Stephanie McMahon featured Triple H as the main source of drama. Triple H and Trish were forced into a mixed tag match as partners against The Rock and Lita.
Stratus coming off flirty with Triple H upset Stephanie before the infamous segment played out. Triple H practicing moves from behind Trish created a unique visual when Stephanie walked into the ring and snapped by assuming they were making a move on each other.
7 Cheating Nidia Out Of Her Title Shot
Trish Stratus’ heel run in 2004-2005 saw her dominating the women’s division as primarily the Women’s Champion for that time. There was a broken hand scenario when Stratus had a cast and couldn’t wrestle typical matches to change the creative style of her feuds.
Former Tough Enough winner Nidia won a match to become the #1 contender during Trish’s injury and assumed it would come weeks later. Stratus walked in the ring and knocked Nidia out with her cast to demand the title shot take place there for an easy win.
6 Taking Advantage Of An Injured Lita
One instance of script merging with reality featured the Trish Stratus vs Lita match at New Year’s Revolution 2005. Lita had won the Women’s Championship a month earlier in the historic Raw main event match that is still discussed today.
Stratus getting her rematch on PPV came in a forgotten match where Lita suffered an injury. The torn ACL injury minutes into the match saw Trish taking advantage to steal an easy victory instead of stopping the match. WWE reacted on the fly by having Stratus win to have the bad situation play out productively.
5 Mocking Lita During Kane Relationship
The rivalry between Trish Stratus and Lita became intertwined with each other’s careers. Trish started to gain more heel heat during her run as a villain when Lita was forced into a marriage with Kane. WWE booked Kane to beat Matt Hardy as a way to win Lita as his love interest due to the match stipulation.
Stratus taunted Lita every week backstage with insulting comments to bring back their rivalry to the forefront. There was even a moment where Trish showed up at the Kane/Lita wedding in white lingerie to further torment Lita at her most unhappy time.
4 Tomko Helping Her Win Women's Title Matches
Trish Stratus aligning with Christian saw Tyson Tomko becoming the enforcer for both heels. Christian missed a few months due to injury, and it led to Stratus having Tomko at her side for most of her matches in the women’s division.
Tomko often got involved in the matches by either physical force or referee distraction to cheat Trish’s opponents out of title matches. Stratus retained in most of her championship matches by having Tomko cheat for the unfair advantage.
3 Aligning With Vince McMahon
The entire relationship storyline between Trish Stratus and Vince McMahon ended with her huge face push, but she had her fair share of bad moments. Stratus was a heel when being the one to chase the romance with McMahon to gain power by dating the boss.
Linda McMahon’s involvement saw Trish willingly going to their home and even making out in front of Linda to further rub it in. Vince treating Stratus poorly and publicly embarrassing her was what changed the story for Trish’s face turn to gain redemption.
2 Spray-Painting Christy Hemme
WWE tried to push Diva Search contest winner Christy Hemme into a bigger role when she received the opportunity to pose for Playboy. Trish Stratus feuded with Hemme over the Women’s Championship heading into the WrestleMania 21 event.
The most ruthless move from Trish came when Christy revealed her Playboy cover photo on Raw. Stratus spray-painted over the cover before knocking out Hemme with a chick kick. A derogatory term was then spray-painted on Christy’s back from Trish in true heel fashion.
1 Betraying Chris Jericho For Christian
The most noteworthy heel chapter of Trish Stratus’ career came all the way back at WrestleMania 20. Chris Jericho turning face during his feud with Christian came out of feelings developing for Stratus after originally viewing her in an insulting manner.
However, it was Trish who made the biggest move by costing Jericho the match to enter a relationship with Christian. Stratus showed her most savage side by elbow Jericho to help Christian steal the win and then making out with him to rub it in further in front of Jericho.
