The UFC is the largest MMA promotion on the planet, however, such success for a singular promotion has led to a lot of issues with its fighters. Whether it is over the lack of pay, lack of a push, or just a general dislike for the bossman Dana White, there have been many high-profile UFC fighters over the years that have had issues with the UFC.

What fans have learned over the years in regard to those fighter complaints, is that the UFC loves to hold grudges over such matters. As a result, many fighters have been blackballed from the world's largest promotion.

10 Jason High

'The Kansas City Bandit' Jason High was a staple of the UFC's lightweight division in the early 2010s. The Strikeforce veteran had a five-fight stint in the promotion, with the last bout coming against Rafael Dos Anjos in June 2014.

High was actually released from the UFC and blackballed from the promotion following the Dos Anjos loss. Following a controversial stoppage that High disagreed with, High pushed the referee while protesting the stoppage. Dana White released him later that night, stating that it is never okay to touch an official.

9 Demetrious Johnson

Demetrious Johnson may be the UFC's leader in consecutive title defenses but that doesn't mean everything was peachy with the UFC and him. Johnson notably clashed with UFC President Dana White over the years, with Johnson saying he disliked White's bullying tactics, and White saying plainly that nobody cared about Johnson.

In the end, the UFC booted him out of the promotion as quickly as they could. Following Johnson's controversial split-decision loss to Henry Cejduo at UFC 227, the promotion shipped him out to ONE Championship in return for Ben Askren.

8 Wanderlei Silva

Wanderlei Silva is one of the most beloved MMA figures of all time. The "Axe Murderer" was always an extremely entertaining fighter and put in some insane fights over the years. However, don't expect to see him at any UFC events anytime soon.

Following Silva avoiding a drug test prior to his fight with Chael Sonnen at UFC 175, he was suspended for life by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. If that wasn't bad enough, Silva was promptly released from the UFC and Dana White explicitly stated that was going to be "Pete Rose'd", and not to expect the UFC to ever honor the Brazilian.

7 Cris Cyborg

Cris Cyborg's beef with the UFC prior to her signing is well known. The UFC had refused to sign Cyborg for years thanks to her drug test failure, and Dana White made fun of the former Strikeforce champion on multiple occasions. Infamously saying that Cyborg looked like "Wanderlei Silva in a dress and heels".

So with Cyborg's UFC signing coming after loads of controversy, it naturally only ended with it as well. Cyborg was promptly given the boot after altering an audio conversation of White and her following her win over Felicia Spencer. After that was released, the UFC cut ties with Cyborg and declared that they were out of the Cyborg business.

6 Randy Couture

Randy Couture and his beef with the UFC go back years. The issues mainly stemmed from a 2007 grievance over pay issues and even went to court as Couture attempted to get out of his contract to fight Fedor Emelianenko. The two ended up making up, with Couture fighting for the promotion for four more years.

Following Couture's retirement in 2011, Dana White seemingly was done playing nice with Couture. He said that he didn't respect Couture at all and that he's happy he never has to work with him again. Couture has since been banned from attending UFC events as well.

5 Mark Hunt

Mark Hunt actually had a good relationship for the majority of his UFC career, it wasn't until 2016 that everything unraveled. Following his fight with Brock Lesnar, it was revealed that Lesnar tested positive for an estrogen blocker, which sent Hunt into a spiral.

Hunt alleged that the UFC purposefully allowed the promotion to fight him, knowing that Lesnar was on performance-enhancing drugs. Hunt promptly sued the UFC, and the two are still battling in court over that allegation, as well as Hunt's other grievances with the promotion. Hunt was released in 2018 after three straight losses.

4 Paul Daley

Paul Daley was a rising star in the welterweight division when he was matched up with Josh Koscheck at UFC 113. However, things didn't go Daley's way, as he was dominated en route to a wide decision loss. However, it was his post-fight actions that saw him get the boot.

Daley, seconds after the bout ended, walked over to Koscheck and sucker punched him. The punch didn't do much damage, but the impact was great enough for him to get released from the UFC, and blackballed permanently.

3 Ken Shamrock

Ken Shamrock seemingly had a somewhat good relationship with the UFC until 2007. Shamrock was released from the UFC following three straight losses inside of the promotion, but that didn't sit well with Shamrock.

Shamrock stated that he was told he was going to get one more UFC fight, and also had one more on his contract when he was cut. He actually sued the UFC due to the release, but the court ruled in the UFC's favor and ruled that Shamrock had to pay their court fees as well. As a result of all the drama, you're not going to see him at any UFC events anytime soon.

2 Tito Ortiz

Tito Ortiz and Dana White's beef is extremely well documented. But for the uninitiated, Ortiz and White had a severe dislike for one another from 2007 onwards. Ortiz and White didn't have any real grievances in terms of contractual issues or anything like that, they just kind of hated each other.

The beef was so bad that they nearly fought in a boxing match at one point in time. It didn't come to fruition, but since Ortiz's UFC tenure ended in 2012, he's rarely been mentioned by the promotion.

1 Frank Shamrock

The adopted brother of Ken Shamrock, Frank Shamrock is also banned from the UFC. The issues first began when Shamrock retired from MMA after defeating Tito Ortiz, deeming that there was a lack of competition in the promotion. After being released from the promotion he quickly kept fighting in other promotions.

Shamrock has gone on a war of words for the last twenty years since then, with both him and Dana White throwing various allegations at one another for years. As a result of the beef, Shamrock is arguably the largest omission from the UFC's Hall of Fame.
