MMA is the game of hit, and don't get hit. Throughout UFC history, there have been loads of individuals that have perfected this art to a tee. Whether it is through an incredible striking game, or through durability, or through wrestling, there have been many fighters in UFC history that have landed well over a thousand strikes.

So let's take a quick look back at the record books and see who some of those fighters are, there are the usual suspects of the likes of Michael Bisping and Max Holloway. However, there are many surprising fighters that have landed a thousand strikes and are in the top ten for most strikes landed in UFC history.

Angela Hill's 13-10 record may be one of the most misleading things in MMA. "Overkill" Hill has had 19 fights within the promotion and has been one of the most active fighters within the promotion as well, notably having five fights in 2020 alone.

Hill clocks in at number ten all-time for most strikes landed in UFC history with 1418. Her fan-friendly striking style and always moving forward absolutely led to this number.

9 Nate Diaz: 1443 Strikes Landed.

This one isn't surprising as Nate Diaz is known as one of the greatest volume strikers in the sport. He may take a little bit to get going, but once he does, Diaz is hard to stop.

Diaz's longevity helps his position all-time as well, as he has incredibly been in the UFC for 14 years at this point, first debuting in 2007 coming off the Ultimate Fighter. Taking that into consideration, it's not surprising to see him so high on the ranks.

8 Jon Jones: 1463 Strikes Landed.

It's no surprise to see one of the greatest fighters of all time this high on the list. Jones has been fighting in the UFC since 2008 and has more wins in championship bouts than any fighter in UFC history. Jones has always had an incredibly diverse attack which has led to loads of strikes over the years.

Withholding any more arrests, Jones's heavyweight return appears to be on the horizon, his strike count will undoubtedly continue to go up as well.

7 Rafael Dos Anjos: 1493 Strikes Landed.

Rafael Dos Anjos is one of the greatest pressure strikers of all time, so his 1493 strikes landed actually seems a bit low. It's also worth noting that Dos Anjos has been fighting in the UFC for over 13 years at this point, and the former lightweight champion is still one of the greatest lightweight fighters on the planet as well.

Dos Anjos is on the backside of his 30s, but is still one of the greatest 155 pounders in the UFC. And with retirement nowhere in sight, Dos Anjos is sure to continue to keep on moving up the rankings.

6 Dustin Poirier: 1527 Strikes Landed.

Dustin Poirier seems to be hitting his prime at a spry 32 years old, and with back-to-back wins over Conor McGregor in 2021, he's solidified himself as one of the greatest lightweights on the planet and one of the biggest stars in the sport.

Poirier's always moving forward and entertaining fighting style inevitably leads to strikes landing, and with his championship fight with Charles Oliviera quickly approaching, Poirier will keep moving on up the rankings.

5 Michael Bisping: 1567 Strikes Landed.

Michael Bisping's UFC run was nothing short of a storybook. After being in the UFC for ten years, Bisping finally got a title shot against Luke Rockhold at UFC 199 where he upset the champion and claimed the title via knockout. Along the way, Bisping had 29 fights in the promotion, and it's not shocking to see Bisping at fifth place all-time.

Edgar is actually the UFC's leader in time spent in the octagon, having had over seven hours fighting in the cage. To go along with that, Edgar is in fourth place with 1705 strikes landed.

Joanna Jędrzejczyk is the women's UFC leader in strikes landed, and also third all-time for strikes landed in the promotion in general. Joanna's high-volume style and constant movement have led to some insane fights throughout her UFC career.

Joanna's 14 fights and loads of championship rounds have led to her place in history, not only as a Hall of Famer, but third all-time in the UFC's strikes landed list.

2 Donald Cerrone: 1727 Strikes Landed.

Max Holloway, despite only being 29 years old, is smashing UFC records left and right.

Holloway has been in the UFC for nine years and is considered one of the greatest featherweights of all time. His fighting style has led to some of the greatest fights in recent years. However, because of his insane volume and pace, it's also led to some of the biggest mismatches in UFC history as well, destroying fighters such as Brian Ortega and Calvin Kattar with ease.

Many know that Holloway has broken various records for strikes landed in a fight, but most don't know how far he is ahead of his contemporaries in terms of total strikes landed. As Holloway is first place ahead of Cerrone by nearly a thousand strikes, with no end in sight, Holloway's lead will only continue to grow.
