The Ultimate Warrior is a polarizing figure in the world of sports entertainment. His rise to professional wrestling fame and subsequent self-destruction is infamous. Yet, there is no denying the popularity that the charismatic, energetic superman obtained. Seemingly cut from an actual comic book, Warrior's stardom exploded in WWE. His ascension included a WrestleMania main event, where Warrior would cleanly pin the Immortal Hulk Hogan. Warrior looked liked the WWE's poster child for the 1990s.

Yet, Warrior's blinding light to WWE main stream celebrity would be too bright for the enigmatic superstar to handle. Instead of being the face that ran the place in the '90s, Warrior's career kept starting and stopping. By the winter of 1992, Warrior was out of WWE and into semi-retirement. WWE planned a full time return in 1996, yet that didn't last. In 1998, World Championship Wrestling would try to recapture the Warrior's magic, but his WCW run would last 6 months. The Ultimate Warrior has always left fans yearning for more. The dream matches that WWE and WCW could have booked with Warrior are absolutely mind-blowing.

10 Ultimate Warrior Vs. Bill Goldberg

WarriorGoldberg

The Ultimate Warrior was one of the biggest stars in WWE heading into the 1990s. Bill Goldberg was positioned as the same type of star for WCW heading into the 2000s. Similar sizes with powerful physiques and an out of this world intensity in the ring, Warrior versus Goldberg is a match made in fan's dreams. Goldberg and his fabled undefeated streak would lead to the WCW World Title at the same time Ultimate Warrior was debuting in World Championship Wrestling. A battle between these two hugely popular stars would have torn the fans right down the middle. While the stars would not have had a match classic, two big strong men beating on each other is a formula for professional wrestling success.

9 Ultimate Warrior Vs. British Bulldog

WarriorBulldog

The Ultimate Warrior would actually team up with Davey Boy Smith and Dynamite Kid in 6 man matches during the late 1980s in WWE. Yet, neither man had a chance to feud with the other, one on one. While Warrior at 6'2, 280, would have the size advantage against the 5'11 260 pound British Bulldog. Davey Boy could have still matched strength. The British Bulldog's strength is legendary. These two powerhouses could have torn the arena down. While Warrior was not known for his classic wrestling, the Bulldog's technical expertise would have been invaluable to their feud. Both WWE and WCW had the opportunity to pull the trigger on this dream match.

8 Ultimate Warrior Vs. Big Poppa Pump

WarriorSteiner

The Ultimate Warrior and Big Poppa Pump Scott Steiner have two of the most complete awe-inspiring physiques in professional wrestling history. Scott Steiner, the perennial babyface tag team wrestler, turned into nWo egomaniac Big Poppa Pump in 1998. While neither performer were known for the most coherent promos, fans would have enjoyed a scathing monologue from Steiner and the equally bizarre rebuttal by the Ultimate Warrior. Steiner proclaiming he could tap the Warrior out with his Steiner Recliner would have made this feud explosive. As Warrior was exiting WCW, Scott Steiner was becoming a main event act as the leader of nWo Hollywood.

The "Modern Day Warrior" Kerry Von Erich would join WWE in 1990 at the height of the Ultimate Warrior's WWE World Championship run. Von Erich would perform as the Texas Tornado in WWE and quickly win Intercontinental gold. Warrior and Von Erich would team up as a "megapoweresque" tag team in WWE. At Survivor Series '90, Warrior would team with Von Erich and his brothers in paint, the Road Warriors. Warrior and Von Erich had such similar builds, that when Warrior had another stop and start in 1992, many WWE fans believed Von Erich was playing the Warrior's gimmick.

Fans would have been mesmerized by this feud. The mighty Yokozuna may have been a giant in the ring, but he could have told a great, athletic story with the Ultimate Warrior. The behemoth, Yokozuna was on the roster when Warrior made his WWE return, but at that point his weight issues did not allow him to compete at a main event level.

4 Ultimate Warrior Vs. Shawn Michaels

WarriorHBK-1

The Ultimate Warrior and Shawn Michaels would share the ring at Survivor Series 1989 in the main event defeating the Heenan family. Yet, fans never got to see the styles clash between the powerful Warrior and the athletic Michaels. Warrior would be a star in the Golden Age of WWE and Michaels would be leader of the New Generation Era, yet their careers overlapped throughout WWE archives. Even during Warrior's return in 1996, Michaels was the top face in WWE and Warrior wasn't far behind in popularity. HBK was never afraid to "go heel" and imagine the bumping Michaels could have delivered in a Warrior match.

3 Ultimate Warrior Vs. Raven

WarriorRaven

Raven was one of the biggest free agent acquisition for WCW in 1997. Ultimate Warrior would be the biggest of 1998. Two characters whose gimmicks were polar opposite would have made for a huge feud in WCW. The grunge scene that Raven and his flock represented would have clashed with the super intense Warrior. Plus, in WCW, all Raven matches were wrestled as no disqualification. Raven, with his "Raven's Rules" clause would get one of the best matches out of Bill Goldberg in his WCW career, he would have done the same with Warrior.

2 Ultimate Warrior Vs. Lex Luger

WarriorLuger-1

The Total Package Lex Luger and the Ultimate Warrior could have met in a wrestling ring or a bodybuilding competition. Warrior famously had a pose down with Ravishing Rick Rude in WWE, that same type of confrontation with Luger would have been eruptive. Both men had legendary careers during the same time period, yet only shared a roster during Warrior's WCW run. Two powerful men would have been able to tell the story of the immovable object and irresistible force. The battle of the torture rack versus the gorilla press slam, would be a matter of which athlete could get the other above their shoulders first.

1 Ultimate Warrior Vs. Sting

WarriorSting-1

The obvious choice for ultimate dream match would be former tag team partners, Ultimate Warrior and Sting. The little Warriors and little Stingers would be torn as two consistent fan favorites battle as brothers in paint. The former Power Team USA teammates would go on to become legends in the industry. Warrior and Sting would both be crowned World Champion in their respective promotions (WWE & WCW) in 1990. Both men would defeat absolute iconic figures to win their titles (Hulk Hogan & Ric Flair). The two looked like they would become easily the biggest wrestling stars of the 1990s. Warrior even noted his past with Sting, in a WCW promo. While WCW, wanted to have the Warrior Hogan rematch, their biggest dream match could have been Warrior and Sting.
