Barring a change of plans, it sounds like Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns won't be part of the July 2 Money in the Bank 2022 pay-per-view.

According to a report from Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Reigns is "currently is no longer scheduled to work" the Money in the Bank event that will run on July 2 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (via Josh Nason), confirmed Barrasso's report.

As previously noted, Reigns is among the top WWE superstars who was recently removed from Money in the Bank advertising. SmackDown Women's Champion Ronda Rousey, Brock Lesnar and Charlotte Flair are among the other major stars who were taken out of Money in the Bank advertising.

Reigns recently agreed to a new WWE contract that includes a reduced working schedule — fhouse shows, televised events and pay-per-views. He was absent from the HIAC card and didn't end up defending his championship at the WrestleMania Backlash pay-per-view. Instead, Reigns and The Usos teamed up in a six-man bout and defeated Drew McIntyre, Riddle and Randy Orton.

Roman Reigns Champion

Aside from the annual men's and women's Money in the Bank ladder matches, the only other confirmed bout for the event thus far is Bianca Belair vs. Rhea Ripley for the Raw Women's Championship.

Money in the Bank 2022 was previously scheduled to take place at Allegiant Stadium (home of the NFL's Las Vegas Raiders) in Paradise, Nevada. But two weeks ago, WWE announced that the show was being moved to MGM Grand Garden Arena, which has a capacity of just over 17,000.

Roman Reigns Should Be At The Pay-Per-Views After MITB

Reigns may not be scheduled for Money in the Bank, but we can definitely expect him to wrestle at SummerSlam 2022 (July 30) and Clash at the Castle (Sept. 3). Those are both stadium pay-per-views, and WWE will want to showcase Reigns in order to enhance ticket sales for both events.
