Veteran WWE superstar Kevin Owens hasn't been on television much recently, and it's been close to two months since he last wrestled a match.

Two weeks ago, Vince McMahon announced his retirement from WWE after four decades at the helm. Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan were named the co-CEOs of WWE, and Triple H (real name Paul Levesque) was named the new Head of Talent Relations as well as the leader of the creative team.

Given the change in leadership, it's a bit of a surprise that Owens hasn't been showcased on TV much. Fortunately for fans of the former Universal Champion, a new report indicates that things are about to change on that front.

Fightful Select (h/t Ringside News) heard from sources "that creative is being cooked up for" Owens "moving forward." Fightful hadn't heard anything about Owens possibly being injured.

Following his WrestleMania 38 match with Hall of Famer 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin, Owens entered a program with Ezekiel (the storyline brother of Elias). The Ezekiel character, of course, is being played by none other than Elias himself. So it's anybody's guess where WWE will go with Owens once he starts appearing on WWE programming more often.

Kevin-Owens

Triple H hasn't wasted any time in pushing other superstars that didn't get much of a chance under Vince McMahon's leadership. The Game has already brought back Dakota Kai (released in April), Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux (both released in November). Not only that, but Ciampa has been granted a United States Championship against Bobby Lashley for next week's episode of Raw.

Needless to say, it'll be interesting to see how WWE books Owens with Triple H now calling the shots.

Kevin Owens Deserves Another Giant Push

It's hard to understand how Owens has only endured one world championship reign on the main WWE roster. He received a short-term main event push in late 2020 and early 2021, having challenged Roman Reigns on several instances for the Universal Championship. The Tribal Chief, of course, won each of those matches. Owens is a longtime fan favorite and has all the tools to be a long-term world champion. Perhaps the change in leadership will lead to greater opportunities for him going forward.
