The use of the 24/7 Championship in WWE shows that promotions will not always value the titles they have in play. A championship will only work if the company gives the fans a reason to believe in them. The Universal Championship struggled to find credibility, and many would argue it didn’t come until Roman Reigns’ recent run with great results.RELATED: 5 Of The Worst Belt Designs In The Past Decade (& 5 Of The Best)Not every belt will have the same fate as quite a few have followed the path of irrelevance in the past and present landscape of wrestling. The issues range from horrid booking to weak talent to just having no purpose. Each of the titles in play showed how useless some champions can be in wrestling when not given a reason to care about them.

8 24/7 Championship

Carmella 24 7 Champion

WWE wasted a Mick Foley appearance when having him announce the 24/7 Championship as the newest title in the company. The belt was inspired from the old Hardcore Championship from the Attitude Era where the rules could see the title change any time.

It was more organic during the Attitude Era and didn’t feel forced to have fun segments like Crash Holly running away from everyone on his off time. The 24/7 Championship had some fun moments with R-Truth and Drake Maverick, but it is relatively useless without real matches and generally pointless segments that hurt the show.

7 Impact Grand Championship

Aron Rex

TNA getting rid of the King of the Mountain Championship in 2016 saw an even more pointless belt become its successor. Billy Corgan revealed the Impact Grand Championship as part of his new vision for the company when gaining power.

Former WWE star Damien Sandow won the first title under the name of Aron Rex, and it was a disappointing reign. The idea of judges scoring the matches just took away from the finishes. TNA used the Impact Grand Championship for a little over a year with few moments giving it any positive attention.

6 NXT North American Championship

Leon Ruff North American Champion

The magic to NXT was that everything on the show felt like it mattered with little filler in between. Adam Cole helped the NXT North American Championship get off to a great start, but it would slowly diminish throughout the years.

NXT having the title change hands quickly and trying to force new talents to win it without the right timing harmed the belt’s importance. The NXT North American Championship has unfortunately become useless with most of the recent holders either being released or dropping the belt too fast.

5 WCW Women's Championship

Akira Hokuto

One of the knocks against the WCW product looking back at it today was the lack of women’s wrestling. WWE at least would have a handful of women competing, but WCW debuted a Women’s Championship for no reason during the Monday Night Wars.

Madusa making the jump from WWE to WCW was mostly to throw WWE’s Women’s Championship into the trash for a shocking moment. The WCW version of that belt would see only two women holding it with most of the title defenses taking place on secondary shows or in Japan.

4 Million Dollar Championship

Ted DiBiase Jr. Million Dollar Champ

WWE tried to make Ted DiBiase’s Million Dollar Championship more than a prop on a few occasions and that ruined it. DiBiase carrying it around to brag about his wealth fine was fine, but no one took it seriously when he lost the belt to Virgil.

WWE gave up on the title following the Virgil flop until multiple future wrestlers brought it back. The Million Dollar Championship did nothing to help the early career of Steve Austin as The Ringmaster, Ted DiBiase Jr., or the recent NXT talents to hold as part of a storyline with DiBiase involved.

3 WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship

Rey Mysterio Billy Kidman

The end of WCW saw them trying to introduce a new title in the final month of the company’s existence. WCW had a tremendous cruiserweight division, but the concept of the Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship was going way too far.

Kid Romeo and Elix Skipper did not benefit from being the first team to hold it. Rey Mysterio and Billy Kidman was the only credible team, which is why WWE wanted them to win the belts on WCW’s final night. However, WWE had no interest in using the WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship when starting the Invasion.

2 TNA Legends Championship

AJ Styles Legends Champion

The TNA Legends Championship had a few different names and revamps throughout the years, but it was most wasted at the first. Booker T introduced the Legends Championship to celebrate his own ego and claimed only those worthy the legends moniker would win it.

AJ Styles winning it was a cool moment, but it did nothing to help him in the bigger picture of TNA. Names like Kevin Nash, Mick Foley and Eric Young held the title that felt like a lower mid-card title for those with name value since there was little prestige involved with the belt.

1 WWE Women's Tag Team Championship

Natalya Tamina

WWE’s most recent colossal failure with a new title featured an idea that fans badly wanted for a few years. The creation of the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship had a promising start when Sasha Banks and Bayley won them.

However, it became obvious that the belts were not well thought out with most of the title holders being makeshift tag teams. WWE treated the belt with little importance and few champions ever had credibility. The WWE Women's Tag Team Championship are still treading water with the recent draft splitting up every current team but the newest makeshift duo of Nikki A.S.H. and Rhea Ripley.
