The unthinkable happened earlier this year, something WWE fans thought they would never see, when Vince McMahon retired. The shock move came following a number of allegations made against the former CEO claiming he had engaged with various female employees over the years and then paid them off after the fact to keep quiet about everything.

A Potential Vince McMahon Hall Of Fame Induction

McMahon still owns the majority share in WWE but has no involvement in the business or what happens on TV. A wise move considering the internal investigation into McMahon is ongoing. However, rumors have surfaced this week that despite the allegations surrounding McMahon and the lack of involvement in the company, he is being considered for a Hall of Fame induction.

Now, it should be noted at this point that the rumor comes from The US Sun, and you can make of that what you will. The Sun also doesn't mention exactly where this information originated, just referring to the person from which the quotes have come from as an “insider”. According to The Sun and its insider, Stephanie McMahon is the one pushing for the induction to happen.

Would WWE Really Do It?

It seems unlikely that Vince would be inducted into the Hall of Fame for a number of reasons. On the flip side, if anyone was going to be pushing for an induction to happen as soon as 2023, less than a year after Vince's retirement, it would be his own daughter. The last time Vince was directly referenced on WWE TV was by Stephanie once she became joint-CEO after all.

Inducting Vince in 2023 would certainly be a risky move, especially if the allegations are still hanging over him and the investigation is ongoing. All of that aside, Vince has always said the Hall of Fame ceremony isn't for him, even requesting inductees don't thank or even mention him during their speeches. That's why the only people to have ever been inducted by the former boss are Stone Cold and The Undertaker.
