There were bizarre rumors earlier this year suggesting that at the age of 76, Vince McMahon would be returning to the ring at WrestleMania. Those rumors were seemingly squashed when Pat McAfee, the man the boss was rumored to be facing, was inserted into a match against Austin Theory instead. That match went down on night two of WrestleMania, and McAfee picked up the win.

Vince McMahon's In-Ring Return

Then that bizarre rumor re-reared its head. McMahon watched the whole match from ringside and after seeing his protege lose, things got a little heated between him and McAfee. So heated that the chairman wound up in the ring with a referee and all of a sudden, McAfee was having a second match. Unfortunately for McAfee, thanks to an attack from Theory before his second match had begun, his Wrestlemania record is now 1-1.

The match was little more than McMahon toying with McAfee for a few minutes before punting a ball into his gut and then covering him for the three count. McMahon's celebrations were cut short though. As Theory raised his boss's hand, the sound of glass breaking lifted the roof off the AT&T Stadium for the second time this weekend and struck fear into the heart of McMahon.

The Worst Stunner Ever

Stone Cold proceeded to grab a couple of beers and have a drink with McMahon. Despite their history, the chairman didn't notice a single red flag, and mid-drink suffered what might well be the worst stunner ever taken. Unclear at this time, but it's likely the stunner being that bad was intentional, whether it was planned between the two of them or a rib on McMahon's part. Austin often jokes the first time he stunned McMahon was the worst stunner ever, and what will likely be the last one might have now taken that crown.

Once Austin had cleared the ring, which included giving Theory a far better-looking stunner, he invited McAfee in for a drink. Again, McAfee really should have taken heed of the warning signs as soon after, he too had been stunned. A very fun segment, and not at all what anyone would have been expecting from it.
