WCW featured some of the greatest tag teams in the history of wrestling. Harlem Heat and The Steiner Brothers were so successful that they were both inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, and Harlem Heat never wrestled a match in WWE.

There were also plenty of "mega tag teams" at WCW. They were often short-lived but featured two main event stars that ended up dominating the tag team division as a unit. This list will rank 10 tag teams that exclusively featured two main event superstars of WCW, ranked from worst to best.

10 Bret Hart & Goldberg

The relationship between Goldberg and Bret Hart is up and down. Many remember Goldberg as the person who technically ended Hart's career thanks to a botched kick. Goldberg has even recently admitted that he is tired of apologizing for the incident.

The two randomly won the WCW tag team titles in 1999. This was the beginning of aimless booking at WCW and the pair only held the titles for six days. They could have been an insane force in WCW, but they were a short-lived tag team that made a small impact as a unit.

9 Big Van Vader & Sid Vicious

Masters Of The Powerbomb Vader And Sid

Vader and Sid Vicious were two of the most monstrous wrestlers in the history of WCW. "The Masters Of The Powerbomb" earned their name, because of how devastating their powerbombs were.

The alliance between the two only lasted a few months, but they had a great rivalry with Davey Boy Smith and Sting. Their alliance came to an end at Beach Blast 1993.

8 Lex Luger & The Giant

Lex Luger Giant Big Show WCW

Lex Luger and The Giant were at one point two of the biggest names at WCW. They were also involved in a great feud against The Outsiders (Scott Hall and Kevin Nash). The two even captured the WCW tag team titles from Hall and Nash at SuperBrawl 7.

Overall, the two were nothing too special as a unit. The Giant was presented as "the muscle," which was supposed to be Luger's whole gimmick. Outside of their feud with The Outsiders, the pair did very little of note.

7 Ric Flair & The Total Package

Ric Flair and Lex Luger (The Total Package) were the first two WCW World Heavyweight Champions. Those title reigns both took place in 1991. The pair began to team up in the '80s, but it wasn't until 2000 that the two competed as Team Package.

By this time, Flair and Luger were both trying to keep the WCW ship afloat despite the aimless booking around them. They put over a ton of new talent like Buff Bagwell, Shane Douglas, and Billy Kidman. Their impact could have been massive if they hadn't paired up so late in the timeline of WCW.

6 Scott Hall & The Giant

Scott Hall was never WCW World Heavyweight Champion, but he competed in a ton of main event matches and storylines. The Giant made a huge impact upon arrival to WCW, where he became WCW Champion in his first match (although it was quickly vacated).

Scott Hall and The Giant began to team up after Hall turned his back on Kevin Nash and sided with nWo Hollywood. The pair were a big-time tag team that eventually became WCW tag team champions. They were also a part of one of the best storylines of 1998 when Nash and Sting began to team up.

5 Diamond Dallas Page & Kevin Nash

DDP and Kevin Nash

DDP and Kevin Nash actually teamed up in the early '90s before Nash became "Diesel" in the WWE. Diamond Dallas Page and Vinnie Vegas (Nash) competed in the lower card of WCW where neither future world champion was able to make an impact.

Over five years after their first run in WCW, the pair began to reunite in WCW after they were both huge superstars at the company. The pair became WCW tag team champions twice and were known as The Insiders. They wrestled huge icons like Bret Hart, Hollywood Hogan, Scott Steiner, and Scott Hall.

4 Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage

Mega Powers WCW

In WWE, "The Mega Powers" Hulk Hogan and Randy Savage were a big-time tag team unit in the late '80s. They were two of the biggest stars of their era and had a split up that led to their bout at WrestleMania 5. It was one of the biggest storylines in the history of the WWE.

By the time both Savage and Hogan reunited in 1994, they were seen as "stars past their prime." A couple of years later, Hogan would help establish the nWo that would reap huge benefits for both Hogan and Savage. The pair made a much smaller impact in WCW than in WWE, but they were always a big deal.

3 Sting & Kevin Nash

NWO Wolfpac

Sting versus the nWo was one of the best storylines WCW ever established. For a long time, Sting was a holdover who refused to join the heel faction. Sting's rivalry with the nWo came to an end when he joined Kevin Nash as a member of the nWo Wolfpac.

Sting and Nash made the Wolfpac the mainstay faction that it was. The two even became WCW tag team champions. If not for these two main event stars, WCW would have likely faded much sooner since the Wolfpac brought a huge spark back to the company.

2 Lex Luger & Sting

Lex Luger and Sting

Lex Luger and Sting changed the face of the WCW tag team titles. The two were the first former WCW world champions to become tag champs and they treated the titles like they were the ultimate goal. Sting and Luger had infinite chemistry.

The pair held the WCW tag team titles for over 150 days. The pair also defeated a ton of big-name tag teams including Harlem Heat and different combinations of the Four Horsemen.

1 The Outsiders

No single tag team is more responsible for the rise of WCW during the Monday Night War era than the Outsiders (Kevin Nash and Scott Hall). The pair arrived in WCW and quickly (and literally) stole the show. They were crucial to the foundation of the nWo and were a perfect pairing with Hollywood Hogan.

As a tag team, they were a dominant force, but either star could main event a WCW show at any given moment. They held the WCW tag team titles on six different occasions. They defeated every big-name unit at WCW and are without a doubt two of the greatest wrestlers in the history of the Georgia-based company.
