AEW's William Regal has shot down recent reports in which he was said to be dealing with some serious health issues.

Earlier this week, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter mentioned that Regal is dealing with serious health issues and that the legendary British wrestler spoke of these issues during a recent chat with Chris Jericho on an episode of Jericho's podcast that has yet to be released. Regal took to Twitter soon after the report surfaced to refute the information and clear up any confusion.

"I’ve just found out that there’s things being printed about my health," tweeted the former NXT general manager. "I am healthier than I’ve been in many years. I talked this week to someone about things that had happened to me in 2018."

In case you missed it, Regal accompanied his former protégé, Bryan Danielson, to the ring on this week's edition of AEW Dynamite, on which Danielson teamed with Jon Moxley, another of Regal's former pupils, to take on The Workhorsemen (Anthony Henry and JD Drake). After the bell, Regal got on the mic and cut an emotional promo in which he addressed his journey to AEW and alluded to the addiction issues that plagued a portion of his life and career.

Because I know that I’m not long for this world. Too many empty bottles, thousands of them. And a few broken hearts, sweetheart,” Regal said on Dynamite.

As you might recall, Regal was released by WWE along with several of his now-former colleagues on January 5. The termination of Regal's contract brought an end to his 22-year tenure with the company, during which he performed multiple roles both on and off screen. While Regal may no longer be on the WWE payroll, his son Charlie Dempsey is still an active member of the NXT UK roster.
