WWE is the biggest wrestling company of all time, entertaining millions of fans for several decades. WWE has produced unforgettable moments, and matches that were so good that they became all-time classics. However, throughout its history, WWE has also produced embarrassing, truly terrible matches, and the last five years are no exception.

In this five-year span fans have witnessed meaningless booking decisions that ruined matches, or simply mediocre performances from wrestlers, and Dave Meltzer has shown no mercy with his ratings. Without further ado, let's take a look at the 10 worst WWE matches of the last five years, according to Dave Meltzer.

10 Tyson Fury Vs. Braun Strowman – Crown Jewel 2019 (DUD)

Tyson Fury Vs Braun Strowman

The famous boxer, two-time World Heavyweight Champion, Tyson Fury, faced Braun Strowman at Crown Jewel 2019, a real clash of monsters.

However, this bout was a total fiasco, Tyson Fury simply did not understand how to tell a story, did not know how to sell his opponent's moves, and did not know what in-ring psychology means, and we know that Braun Strowman is not a guy who can carry a match. At times, it seemed that these two moved in slow motion. Dave Meltzer was right here. In the end, Fury won the match by count out.

9 The Undertaker Vs. Goldberg – Super Showdown 2019 (DUD)

Usually, Saudi Arabia's PPVs feature marquee matches, regardless of the age or the physical shape of the competitors, but most of the time those matches suck. At Super Showdown 2019, The Undertaker and Goldberg faced each other for the first time ever, a dream match that happened at least 15 years late.

It was an embarrassing match, with botches, and terrible performances from both men, especially Goldberg, frankly not worth mentioning the details. It was an infamous match to close an infamous PPV. Dave Meltzer was generous in not giving negative stars to this match.

8 Braun Strowman Vs. Bray Wyatt – Money In The Bank 2020 (DUD)

Braun Strowman defended the Universal Title against his former friend, Bray Wyatt, and the match was precisely about the past between them and their history together.

In fact, they even hugged each other during the match, after excellent character work by Wyatt, but right after that Strowman hit a Running Powerslam to win the match and retain the title. The story was decent, but the execution of the match was lousy and the in-ring action left much to be desired.

7 Alexa Bliss Vs. Eva Marie – SummerSlam 2021 (DUD)

Alexa Bliss vs Eva Marie

Eva Marie returned to WWE for practically nothing, it was a total waste of time, but you have to admit that this terrible match was not her fault. Alexa Bliss' supernatural gimmick was fun and intriguing at first, but eventually WWE's booking ruined it.

At SummerSlam 2021, Alexa Bliss and Eva Marie had a horrible, very boring match, which is remembered for the fact that Eva Marie slapped Alexa's doll, Lily, which was absolutely absurd.

6 Brock Lesnar Vs. Cain Velasquez – Crown Jewel 2019 (-1 Star)

Brock Lesnar Vs Cain Velasquez

Cain Velasquez defeated Brock Lesnar in the UFC, and WWE made a rematch possible, this time in a wrestling ring. This was a match that had two purposes, the first was to sell tickets, of course, and the second was to put Brock Lesnar over, as the dominant champion he has always been, taking revenge.

It was basically a two-minute squash match, as Cain Velazquez did not show his characteristic lethal offense, and tapped out when he was caught in Lesnar's Kimura Lock.

5 Brock Lesnar Vs. Ricochet – Super Showdown 2020 (-1 Star)

Another Brock Lesnar match that received a negative rating from Dave Meltzer was against Ricochet at Super Showdown 2020. German Suplex, German Suplex, German Suplex, an F-5, Lesnar makes the cover, 1-2-3.

That was the match, lasting a minute and a half. It is understandable that Brock Lesnar was booked as a beast, but this was a wasted opportunity, as Ricochet and Lesnar could have delivered an amazing match.

4 Randy Orton Vs. The Fiend – WrestleMania 37 (-1 Star)

Randy Orton had a bizarre feud with The Fiend, burning him alive, involving Alexa Bliss, and ending with a mediocre match at WrestleMania 37. Once again, the nonsensical booking ruined the match as Alexa Bliss appeared with a horrifying look to cost The Fiend the match, which was odd and was never explained.

Also, before that the match was already being quite boring, with lazy performances from both men. Dave Meltzer's rating is coherent on this occasion.

3 Vince McMahon Vs. Pat McAfee – WrestleMania 38 (-2 Stars)

WrestleMania is the biggest wrestling event in the world, it’s the biggest stage of them all, therefore, only the best matches should take place there. Nevertheless, Dave Meltzer gave a negative rating to a WrestleMania match in two consecutive years.

After defeating Theory, Pat McAfee faced off against 76-year-old Vince McMahon. As expected, the match was atrocious, Vince couldn’t wrestle, but Theory helped him, and he ended up defeating McAfee in less than four minutes.

2 Seth Rollins Vs. The Fiend – Hell In A Cell 2019 (-2 Stars)

This was the main event of Hell In A Cell 2019, and frankly it has to be among the worst PPV main events in WWE history. It is assumed that in a Hell In A Cell match there are no limits, you could kill your opponent, and it would still be legal, but for some reason the referee stopped the match after Seth Rollins used the sledgehammer.

It was undoubtedly one of the worst endings in the history of sports entertainment.

1 Damian Priest Vs. The Miz – WrestleMania Backlash 2021 (-3 Stars)

Damian Priest Vs. The Miz WrestleMania Backlash

The worst WWE match of the last five years, according to Dave Meltzer, was the Lumberjack match between Damian Priest and The Miz, in which the lumberjacks were zombies, one of the stupidest things in WWE history, and that's saying something. Why zombies? To promote the film Army Of The Dead.

The match was absurd, a total waste of time, and as if the zombies weren't pitiful enough, the in-ring action was lousy. In the end, Priest won the match and the zombies "ate" The Miz. Three negative stars is definitely what this match deserved.
