In the wrestling world, there are a lot of different names, some of which are great and others that are forgettable. A lot of people use names given to them by a company, with WWE often providing names for its talents in order to copyright them and have ownership of them.

However, there are some talents that use their real names. Many of these do sound like normal names, but there are some which sound incredibly showbiz but are not fake ones that have been created for them, and in actual fact are their genuine names which many people might not believe.

10 Michelle McCool

One name that is a legitimate one is Michelle McCool. It's a fantastic name that was perfect for the wrestling business, which is why a lot of people likely didn't believe that it was her legitimate name. However, it certainly was, and there was no reason for it to be altered.

When a name rolls off the tongue as easily as McCool's did it made perfect sense to keep it the same, and she had plenty of success throughout her career in using this as well, with the name being a memorable one.

9 Brian Kendrick

While WWE did decide to throw the word 'The' at the front of it for a certain portion of his career, Brian Kendrick is his actual real name. It's another one that sounds too good to be true and is actually perfect for the wrestling industry.

It's one that really suits the business which is why it was never changed no matter where he went. WWE clearly saw how this one would click and that led to him sticking with things, and he went on to have a strong career both as a singles star and in the tag team division.

8 Deonna Purrazzo

In wrestling right now there are few names as cool as Deonna Purrazzo. It's one that everybody remembers, even if she's not part of a major storyline. Her work is incredible and speaks for itself, but having such a fantastic name certainly helps.

It's one that she has used both in and out of WWE and it seems like Purrazzo will be keeping this name throughout her entire career, as she continues to use this one during her career with Impact Wrestling.

7 Doug Basham

The Bashams

The Basham Brothers (not actual brothers) might not have been the top tag team in wrestling during their era, but they certainly made their mark in wrestling history. One of the reasons for that is because of their tag team name, with The Basham Brothers being something that really stuck out.

While their first names of Doug and Danny were fairly forgettable, Doug's second name being Basham just worked perfectly within the wrestling industry. A name that actually includes a word that could be seen as punching just fit in brilliantly, with the 'bash' element of it helping to work.

6 Jeff Jarrett

Jeff Jarrett dancing

Jeff Jarrett is a fantastic name and one that everybody knows in the wrestling world. One of the reasons that people are aware of that is because he spent his entire career cutting promos and singing about it, which helped to make it stick.

Because the name was so perfect for the way that Jarrett used it, many people would think that he created on purpose for making that happen. However, that wasn't the case as this was legitimately his name.

5 Candice Michelle

Candice Michelle

Candice Michelle is another name that fans will always remember, mainly because it's such a great one. Unlike some of the other wrestlers who have used their own names, Candice did tweak things slightly as Michelle is actually her middle name.

She is really known as Candice Michelle Beckman, however, the two names she used are still hers. Using Michelle as her last name certainly worked better for the purposes of professional wrestling than her actual second name as well, so this was probably a wise move.

4 Noam Dar

Noam Dar might not have broken out just yet as one of WWE's top stars, but the Scottish wrestler certainly has one of the coolest names in the company. It's one that is easy to remember and is quite snappy to say, which is one of the reasons it is so brilliant.

The NXT UK star has used this throughout his career, whether working on the independent scene, appearing on Monday Night Raw, or wrestling in NXT UK, and it is likely that he is always going to use it.

3 Brock Lesnar

Because Brock Lesnar was brought through the developmental system in WWE, the company had a great opportunity to actually change his name and do something different with it. That's why a lot of fans might think that it isn't his legitimate name.

However, that isn't the case, as the Beast has always used his real name in both wrestling and MMA. It is a very strong name and one that suits his wrestling style as well, being a true hard-hitting talent and now one of the biggest stars in the history of the business.

2 Shinsuke Nakamura

Considering the fact WWE brought in Shinsuke Nakamura from New Japan Pro Wrestling, it is quite surprising that the company didn't change his name at some stage. However, clearly Vince McMahon knew that his actual name was a perfect one for wrestling.

Nakamura's name simply sounds cool, almost like a character from a video game, which is why it works so well. Plus, when it comes to ring announcing it is absolutely perfect, as Greg Hamilton has proven throughout his time in WWE.

1 Chuck Palumbo

Chuck Palumbo

When it comes to professional wrestling names, few are better than Chuck Palumbo. While the name didn't take him to the main events of WWE, it certainly ensured that he would be a memorable mid-card talent and somebody that fans would remember.

Palumbo had a solid enough career, being best known for fans for his time teaming with Billy Gunn. However, during that period he actually dropped the second name with the duo being known as Chuck & Billy.
